Free and classical entropy over the circle. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Relative entropy with respect to normalized arclength measure on the circle is greater than or equal to the negative logarithmic energy (Voiculescu's negative free entropy) and is greater than or equal to the modified relative free entropy.

Microgravity Spherical Droplet Evaporation and Entropy Effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Recent efforts to understand low-temperature combustion (LTC) in internal combustion engines highlight the need to improve chemical kinetic mechanisms involved in the negative temperature coefficient (aka cool flame) regime.

A local approach to g-entropy [PDF]

open access: yesKybernetika, 2015
The concept of \(g\)-entropy (here \(g\) is a generator of some pseudo-addition), as a generalized form of the fuzzy entropy, was introduced by Mesiar and Rybarik in 1998. Later, some modifications of this approach, like the Hudetz correction, were further discussed. In this paper, a \(g\)-ergodic decomposition of fuzzy measures is first introduced and

Objective Bayesianism and the Maximum Entropy Principle

open access: yesEntropy, 2013
Objective Bayesian epistemology invokes three norms: the strengths of our beliefs should be probabilities; they should be calibrated to our evidence of physical probabilities; and they should otherwise equivocate sufficiently between the basic ...

The volume entropy of a surface decreases along the Ricci flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The volume entropy, h(g), of a compact Riemannian manifold (M,g) measures the growth rate of the volume of a ball of radius R in its universal cover.

Diastatic entropy and rigidity of complex hyperbolic manifolds

open access: yesComplex Manifolds, 2016
Let f : Y → X be a continuous map between a compact real analytic Kähler manifold (Y, g) and a compact complex hyperbolic manifold (X, g0). In this paper we give a lower bound of the diastatic entropy of (Y, g) in terms of the diastatic entropy of (X, g0)

Odd entanglement entropy in Galilean conformal field theories and flat holography

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2022
The odd entanglement entropy (OEE) for bipartite states in a class of $$(1+1)$$ ( 1 + 1 ) -dimensional Galilean conformal field theories ( $$GCFT_{1+1}$$ G C F T 1 + 1 ) is obtained through an appropriate replica technique.

On the on-shell: the action of AdS4 black holes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We compute the on-shell action of static, BPS black holes in AdS4 from N = 2 $$ \mathcal{N}=2 $$ gauged supergravity coupled to vector multiplets and show that for a certain class it is equal to minus the entropy of the black hole.
