Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Advanced monolayer and layer-by-layer nanocapsule systems for sustained release of carvacrol and trans-cinnamaldehyde against multidrug-resistant Salmonella in poultry

open access: yesApplied Microbiology and Biotechnology
The rise of antibiotic-resistant Salmonella in poultry poses a significant public health challenge. This study assessed the efficacy of carvacrol and trans-cinnamaldehyde, in free and nanoencapsulated forms, as natural alternatives to chlorine for ...

Computing Minimal Doubly Resolving Sets and the Strong Metric Dimension of the Layer Sun Graph and the Line Graph of the Layer Sun Graph

open access: yesComplexity, 2020
Let G be a finite, connected graph of order of, at least, 2 with vertex set VG and edge set EG. A set S of vertices of the graph G is a doubly resolving set for G if every two distinct vertices of G are doubly resolved by some two vertices of S.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Deep CNNs with Robust LBP Guiding Pooling for Face Recognition

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Pooling layer in Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) is designed to reduce dimensions and computational complexity. Unfortunately, CNN is easily disturbed by noise in images when extracting features from input images.

Crystal chemistry characteristics and dispersion performance of Ca-montmorillonite with different layer charge density

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2020
The correlation between crystal chemistry characteristics and dispersion performance of Ca-montmorillonite with different layer charge density was studied. The four kinds of purified montmorillonite were characterized by XRD, XRF, FTIR, SEM, TEM, BET, TG-

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...
