Time-dependent and force-dependent vasoreactivity of isolated human umbilical arteries [PDF]

open access: yesScripta Medica, 2020
Background/Aim: There have been different experimental conditions for in vitro studies on human umbilical arteries (HUA) in tissue bath system. This diversity was mainly reflected in variables such as stretching tension, incubation period and initial ...

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Exploring the in vitro protein digestive behaviors of pork sausage models based on NaCl level-dependent gel properties

open access: yesJournal of Animal Science and Technology
This study investigated the impact of varying NaCl concentrations on the gel properties and in vitro digestive behavior of pork sausage models. Meat batters formulated with pork shoulders were prepared with NaCl concentrations of 1.0% , 1.5%, and 2.0% (w/

Spectral optical monitoring of 3C390.3 in 1995-2007: I. Light curves and flux variation of the continuum and broad lines

open access: yes, 2005
Here we present the results of the long-term (1995-2007) spectral monitoring of the broad line radio galaxy \object{3C~390.3}, a well known AGN with the double peaked broad emission lines, usually assumed to be emitted from an accretion disk.

Conductance Characteristics between a Normal Metal and a Superconductor Carrying a Supercurrent [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The low-temperature conductance (G) characteristics between a normal metal and a clean superconductor (S) carrying a supercurrent $I_s$ parallel to the interface is theoretically investigated.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

复合纳米生物催化剂Fe3 O4-ZIF-8@ET 2.0的 制备及表征Preparation of composite nano-biocatalyst Fe3O4-ZIF-8@ET 2.0 and its characterization

open access: yesZhongguo youzhi

Application of the finite-temperature Lanczos method for the evaluation of magnetocaloric properties of large magnetic molecules

open access: yes, 2012
We discuss the magnetocaloric properties of gadolinium containing magnetic molecules which potentially could be used for sub-Kelvin cooling. We show that a degeneracy of a singlet ground state could be advantageous in order to support adiabatic processes

The Stellar Parameters and Evolutionary State of the Primary in the d'-Symbiotic System StH\alpha190 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We report on a high-resolution, spectroscopic stellar parameter and abundance analysis of a d' symbiotic star: the yellow component of StH\alpha190. This star has recently been discovered, and confirmed here, to be a rapidly rotating (vsini=100 km/s ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
