The Detection of a Massive Chain of Dark H i Clouds in the GAMA G23 Field [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2022
Abstract We report on the detection of a large, extended H i cloud complex in the Galaxy and Mass Survey G23 field, located at a redshift of z ∼ 0.03, observed as part of the MeerKAT Habitat of Galaxies Survey campaign (a pilot survey to explore the mosaicing capabilities of the MeerKAT telescope). The cloud complex, with a total mass of

G23(P) A 10 year experience of neonates with truncus arteriosus [PDF]

open access: yesPaediatricians with expertise in cardiology special interest group (PECSIG), 2020
Background Congenital heart defect affects around 10 in a 1000 live born babies. Truncus arteriosus is a rare conotruncal defect in which a common arterial trunk supplies systemic, pulmonary and coronary circulation. The incidence of truncus arteriosus is quoted between 1–2% of all congenital heart malformations. Aim To evaluate the initial neonatal

From Synthesis to Therapeutics: Bioactive‐Coated Zein Nanoparticles in Drug Delivery [PDF]

open access: yesBiopolymers
ABSTRACT Polymeric zein nanoparticles (ZNP), derived from corn protein, are biodegradable drug carriers with high stability and low synthesis costs. Their amphiphilic nature allows efficient encapsulation of both hydrophilic and lipophilic drugs, making them promising for drug delivery.

The line-of-sight warp of the spiral galaxy ESO 123-G23 [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2003
We present 3-D modelling of the distribution and kinematics of the neutral hydrogen in the spiral galaxy ESO 123-G23. The optical appearance of this galaxy is an almost perfectly edge-on disk, while the neutral hydrogen is found to extend vertically out to about 15 kpc on either side of the galactic plane.

Analyst herding—whether, why, and when? Two new tests for herding detection in target forecast prices

open access: yesEconomics and Business Review, 2023
This study proposes two novel tests for security analyst herding based on binomial correlation and forecast error volatility scaling, and applies it to investigate herding patterns in analyst target prices in 2008–2020 in the UK.

Static correlation lengths in QCD at high temperatures and finite densities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We use a perturbatively derived effective field theory and three-dimensional lattice simulations to determine the longest static correlation lengths in the deconfined QCD plasma phase at high temperatures (T\gsim 2 Tc) and finite densities (\mu\lsim 4 T).

The Non-Perturbative ${\cal O}(g^6)$ Contribution to the Free Energy of Hot SU(N) Gauge Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The non-perturbative input necessary for the determination of the ${\cal O}(g^6)$ part of the weak coupling expansion of the free energy density for SU(2) and SU(3) gauge theories is estimated.
