Role of Chloroquine phosphate on Acute phase reactant in patients with knee osteoarthritis

open access: yesمجلة كلية الطب, 2008
Background: The acute phase response is a major pathophysiologic phenomena that accompanies inflammation whether acute or chronic. The complements 3 (C3), complement4 (C4) and C-reactive protein (CRP) are positive acute phase proteins (+ve APPs) their ...

G400(P) How useful is recording preferred place of end of life care and place of death as outcome measure in paediatric palliative care? [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Disease in Childhood, 2015
Aims To evaluate the preferred place for end of life care and place of death as an outcome measure in paediatric palliative care Methods Medical records of children dying under the care of the Paediatric Palliative Care team from January 2009 to December 2013 were audited. Results 187 deaths were identified: mean 37.5 deaths per year.

Telomere‐to‐Telomere Genomes Reveal that Multiscale Evolution Shapes the Largest Metabolic Arsenal of Diaporthe Fungi

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents the first telomere‐to‐telomere genomes and population resources for Diaporthe pathogens, uncovering the largest known fungal repertoire of secondary metabolite gene clusters. Structural variations and horizontal gene transfer drive cluster diversification, while specific rapidly evolving clusters control virulence, offering novel ...

East Java Online Transactions: Demand Side Analysis

open access: yesJDE (Journal of Developing Economies), 2019
Despite the study of rapid growth of online-based transactions in East Java over the past few years, little is focused on the demand side in which consumer characteristics are crucial in this event. This study aims to analyze the relationship of consumer

Exome Sequencing Identifies Variants in MLH1 and ERBB2 as Potential Cancer‐Predisposing Factors in Familial Early‐Onset Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Colorectal cancer (CRC) has raised considerable health concerns worldwide, with increasing incidence rates, specifically among younger populations. Despite remarkable progress in diagnosing and treating various diseases, the genetic basis of CRC remains only partially understood.

RNA degradomics and proteomics reveal the mechanism of dsProsβ1‐mediated proteasome targeting in Psylliodes chrysocephala

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
RNA degradomics revealed dsProsβ1‐derived siRNA‐mediated mRNA cleavage events, mainly at uracil‐guanine and adenine‐adenine pairs. Proteasome inhibition via dsProsβ1 increased mitochondrial and cytoskeletal proteins while reducing translation‐related and mRNA‐binding proteins.

Test results from a dynamic model dynaflex rotor [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
A one-fifth scale dynamic model of the Sikorsky Dynaflex rotor was tested in hover and in forward flight conditions in a wind tunnel. The Dynaflex rotor features an advanced composite structure which flexes to provide a constant speed universal joint ...

Acetylcholine From Solitary Chemosensory Cell, Not Neuron, Regulates Basal Cell Fate Driving Eosinophilic Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
This study identifies that Ach levels are elevated in eCRSwNP and primarily released from SCCs rather than neurons. Ach induces epithelial remodeling in eCRSwNP by binding to M1R/M3R and activating YAP signaling in basal cells, driving basal cell hyperplasia and abnormal differentiation. Blocking M1R/M3R with TB inhibits eCRSwNP progression.

The Massive Distant Clusters of WISE Survey: The First Distant Galaxy Cluster Discovered by WISE [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present spectroscopic confirmation of a z=0.99 galaxy cluster discovered using data from the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE). This is the first z~1 cluster candidate from the Massive Distant Clusters of WISE Survey (MaDCoWS) to be confirmed.
