Macrophyte Extracts Promote the Growth of the Microbial Community Associated With Microcystis aeruginosa Alleviating Allelopathic Effects

open access: yesWater Environment Research, Volume 98, Issue 2, February 2026.
Aqueous extracts from Pistia stratiotes and Pontederia crassipes inhibit Microcystis aeruginosa while stimulating its associated microbiota. Reintroduction of microbiota into fresh cyanobacterial cultures reduced allelopathic effects, likely through allelochemical degradation and antioxidative responses.

A human immunodeficiency virus type 1 tat-like arginine-rich RNA-binding domain is essential for HEXIM1 to inhibit RNA polymerase II transcription through 7SK snRNA-Mediated inactivation of P-TEFb [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The HEXIM1 protein inhibits the kinase activity of P-TEFb (CDK9/cyclin T) to suppress RNA polymerase II transcriptional elongation in a process that specifically requires the 7SK snRNA, which mediates the interaction of HEXIM1 with P-TEFb.

Exome Sequencing for the Diagnostics of Osteogenesis Imperfecta in Six Russian Patients

open access: yesCurrent Issues in Molecular Biology
Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a group of inherited disorders of connective tissue that cause significant deformities and fragility in bones. Most cases of OI are associated with pathogenic variants in collagen type I genes and are characterized by ...

Challenging Evolutionary Paradigms: Daphnia Populations Resurrected From Unpolluted Environments Show Enhanced Detoxification Ability to Aromatic Pollutants

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 35, Issue 4, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Understanding how organisms respond to chemical stress requires disentangling genetically encoded (constitutive) adaptations from environmentally induced (plastic) responses. This challenge is particularly acute for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), widespread aquatic pollutants with well‐documented toxicity, where mechanisms of ...

Local Maintenance and Genomic Diversity of Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis Virus in Natural Populations of House Mice in the Czech Republic Over a 24‐Year Period

open access: yesZoonoses and Public Health, Volume 73, Issue 1, Page 107-112, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV) is a neglected rodent‐borne zoonotic virus primarily infecting house mice. The virus can be highly pathogenic, particularly in immunocompromised individuals and in congenital infections. LCMV is distributed worldwide but shows local clustering, probably due to the highly structured populations of its ...

A comparison of theory and experiment for coupled rotor body stability of a bearingless rotor model in hover and forward flight [PDF]

open access: yes
Seven cases were selected for correlation from a 1/5.86 Froude-scale experiment that examined several rotor designs which were being considered for full-scale flight testing as part of the Bearingless Main Rotor (BMR) program. The model rotor hub used in
