Sequence Characterization of a Unique Intergenic Spacer in Gadiformes Mitochondrial DNA
Marine Biotechnology, 1999: The nucleotide sequences of intergenic spacers located between the tRNA(Thr) and tRNA(Pro) genes in mitochondrial DNA of cod fishes (order Godiformes) were determined. Spacers from eight species representing two families of cod fishes were analyzed and found to vary in size from 25 to 99 bp.

Melanic hyper-pigmentation in the genus Lepidion (Gadiformes: Moridae)
2014Two cases of melanic hyper-pigmentation in Lepidion lepidion are reported from two localities in Spanish Atlantic waters. A bibliographic search revealed the occurrence of this chromatic anomaly in two other Lepidion specimens, the first of them reported in the late 19th century. Macroscopically, the colour abnormality was characterized by the presence

New data on the reproduction of Macrourids (Teleostei, Gadiformes)
Sarsia, 1979Abstract The reproduction of deep-sea fishes is still poorly known, when it is not a total mystery. This is true in the case of those belonging to one of the most important bathybenthic families, the Macrouridae. During several research expeditions conducted by the Institut scientifique et technique des peches maritimes aboard the oceanographic vessels

Late Eocene gadiform (Teleostei) skull from Seymour Island, Antarctic Peninsula
Antarctic Science, 1991On the basis of a skull from the late Eocene La Meseta Formation on Seymour Island, Antarctic Peninsula, a gadiform fish is reported from the Antarctic region for the first time. This specimen, the most completely preserved fossil teleost cranium yet described from Antarctica, provides convincing evidence for the presence of Gadiformes in a far ...

Depth range extension of Gaidropsarus vulgaris (Gadiformes: Gaidropsaridae)
Seven specimens of the three-bearded rockling Gaidropsarus vulgaris were caught on the Porcupine Bank (west of Ireland, northeastern Atlantic) at depths ranging from 216 to 582 m. These records extend the known bathymetric range of the species, previously reported between 10 and 120 m.Bañón, Rafael +2 more
