Development, validity, and reliability of the General Activities of Daily Living Scale: a multidimensional measure of activities of daily living for older people

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Psychiatry, 2014
Objective: To propose and evaluate the psychometric properties of a multidimensional measure of activities of daily living (ADLs) based on the Katz and Lawton indices for Alzheimer's disease (AD) and mild cognitive impairment (MCI).

Big-data-driven modeling unveils country-wide drivers of endemic schistosomiasis. [PDF]

open access: yesSci Rep, 2017
Schistosomiasis is a parasitic infection that is widespread in sub-Saharan Africa, where it represents a major health problem. We study the drivers of its geographical distribution in Senegal via a spatially explicit network model accounting for ...

Potential automorphy over CM fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Let $F$ be a CM number field. We prove modularity lifting theorems for regular $n$-dimensional Galois representations over $F$ without any self-duality condition.

Design and Statistical Innovations in a Platform Trial for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, Volume 94, Issue 3, Page 547-560, September 2023., 2023
Platform trials allow efficient evaluation of multiple interventions for a specific disease. The HEALEY ALS Platform Trial is testing multiple investigational products in parallel and sequentially in persons with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) with the goal of rapidly identifying novel treatments to slow disease progression.

Three reasons why expanded use of natural enemy solutions may offer sustainable control of human infections

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 4, Issue 1, Page 32-43, February 2022., 2022
Abstract Many infectious pathogens spend a significant portion of their life cycles in the environment or in animal hosts, where ecological interactions with natural enemies may influence pathogen transmission to people. Yet, our understanding of natural enemy opportunities for human disease control is lacking, despite widespread uptake and success of ...

Comparative Analysis of Routing Schemes Based on Machine Learning

open access: yesMobile Information Systems, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Machine learning‐based distributed routing algorithms, in contrast to traditional mathematical model‐driven distributed routing algorithms, are typically data‐driven, allowing them to adapt to dynamically changing network environments and various performance evaluation index optimization requirements.

Comprehensive analysis of a three‐phase DC–DC resonant converter with an open delta‐wye transformer using variable frequency

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 57, Issue 2, Page 77-80, January 2021., 2021
Abstract A three‐phase soft‐switched DC–DC resonant converter with variable frequency to perform the output voltage control is proposed. The open delta‐wye connection provides a double output voltage reducing the primary current stress, turns ratio, weight and volume of high‐frequency transformer.
