Gadolinium Contrast Agents - Are they Really Safe?
Gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCA) are used worldwide for enhanced MRI examinations, including heart and vessels. Gadolinium is a highly toxic heavy metal. If used in GBCA it must be tightly bound to ligands. The configuration of ligands influences

Cooperative Goniopolar and Anomalous Nernst Transverse Thermoelectricity in Kagome Magnets
A cooperative transverse thermoelectric mechanism is realized in kagome magnets, where axis‐dependent goniopolar effects and Berry curvature‐driven anomalous Nernst coexist within the same energy window. In MgMn6Sn6, this intrinsic synergy yields a record room‐temperature transverse thermopower of 15.6 µV K−1, establishing a general strategy for high ...

Magnetic properties and rectifying behaviour of silicon doped with gadolinium
The magnetic/nonmagnetic p-n junction was prepared by implanting gadolinium into the n-type silicon with low-energy dual-ion-beam epitaxy technology. The magnetic layer GdxSi1-x shows excellent magnetic properties at room temperature.

Hierarchical multi‐material TPMS lattices are engineered as flexible tactile sensors by combining soft and stiff elastomeric layers with a conformal conductive coating. The bilayer architecture delivers sensitivity at low pressures while maintaining a broad detectable range under large loads, enabling reliable pressure and vibration monitoring for ...

Microneedles Mediated Delivery of Nanodiamonds for Quantum Sensing of Free Radicals in Skin Tissue
Fluorescent nanodiamonds are nanoscale sensors capable of monitoring cellular stress responses. However, to function effectively, they must be delivered into cells or tissues. Here, we demonstrate their application in the skin by developing a dissolvable microneedle platform that dissolves after skin insertion, enabling the delivery of nanodiamonds ...
