Unlocking Long‐Lived Charge‐Separated State in Pentamethine Cyanine Based on Anionic Hofmeister Effect for Photodynamic Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Based on the anionic Hofmeister effect, a universal strategy of incorporation of stereo‐π anion BPh4− into a series of Cy5 skeletons to unlock long‐lived charge‐separated states was reported, wherein the weak electronic coupling and low charge recombination driving force hinder the charge recombination process, elevating the oxygen‐independent ROS ...

Pressure‐Tuned Superconducting Dome and Persistent Charge‐Density‐Wave Order in NdSeTe2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NdSeTe2 exhibits an unusual pressure‐tuned phase diagram in which charge‐density‐wave order does not disappear at optimal superconductivity. Instead, Raman spectroscopy reveals a transformation from long‐range to short‐range correlations that remain invisible to resistivity and persist across the entire superconducting dome.

Distinct Cleavage Trajectories Mediated by DNA and RNA Substrate in Argonaute From Methanocaldococcus Fervens

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study characterizes MfAgo, an enzyme exhibiting highly efficient DNA‐guided DNA and RNA cleavage capability. Precise RNA cleavage strictly requires dimerization to stabilize the PIWI‐loop region, while its robust DNA cleavage functions in a dimerization‐independent manner.

Seeing the Chemistry of Biomolecular Condensates: In Situ Mapping of Composition and Water Content

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Raman hyperspectral imaging combined with spectral phasor analysis enables a label‐free quantification of proteins, polymers and water density within individual biomolecular condensates. By transforming complex vibrational fingerprints into intuitive compositional maps, the approach reveals the high water content and structural heterogeneity of ...
