Gadolinium-based nanoscale MRI contrast agents for tumor imaging

open access: yes, 2017
Gadolinium-based nanoscale MRI CAs have been considered as a promising nanoplatform for tumor diagnosis, due to their favorable capability of enhancing the longitudinal relaxivity (r1) of individual gadolinium ions, delivering to the region of interest a

Structural domain growth of strained gadolinium on Mo(112) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The growth mode of domains of the hexagonal lattice of strained gadolinium deposited on Mo(112) has been investigated with low-energy electron diffraction (LEED) and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM).

Immunosuppressive Drug Use in Limited Systemic Sclerosis: An International Survey

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Current guidelines recommend immunosuppressive treatment for diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis but are less clear on their use in limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis (lcSSc) in the absence of internal organ complications. We conducted an international survey to understand current immunosuppressive drug prescribing patterns in lcSSc ...

Unsupervised Machine Learning Identifies Shared Biomechanical and Clinical Variation in Individuals with Knee Osteoarthritis and High BMI: A Secondary Analysis of the IDEA Trial

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective High body mass index (BMI≥27 kg/m2) and aberrant gait biomechanics are primary risk factors for knee osteoarthritis (KOA), yet the specific loading patterns linked to clinical disease features remain unclear. Unsupervised machine learning (ML) was used to identify vertical ground reaction force (vGRF) waveform modes of variation and ...

Impact of gadolinium-based MRI contrast agent and local anesthetics co-administration on chondrogenic gadolinium uptake and cytotoxicity [PDF]

open access: yes
The gadolinium-based contrast agent DOTA-Gd is clinically used in combination with local anesthetics for direct magnetic resonance arthrography. It remains unclear whether gadolinium uptake into cartilage is influenced by co-administration of bupivacaine

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Gadolinium-Based Contrast Agent-Related Toxicities

open access: yes, 2018
In recent years, gadolinium-based contrast agents have been associated with different types of toxicity. In particular, nephrogenic systemic fibrosis, a progressive sclerotic-myxedematous systemic disease of unknown etiology, is related to gadolinium ...

Reservoir‐Driven Neuromorphic Computing Based on Composite Rare‐Earth/Transition Metal Oxide Memristor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A defect‐engineered Ag/Gd2O3:Nb2O5/Pt rare earth composite oxide memristor enables stable multilevel reservoir states through pulse driven conductance modulation. Experimentally measured device responses are incorporated into a device aware reservoir computing framework for CIFAR‐100 image classification, highlighting the potential of rare earth ...

Dimensionality‐Driven Interfacial Electronic Coupling in Carbon‐Supported Gd‐CuO Catalysts for Selective CO2 Electroreduction to Ethylene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The 2D carbon‐supported Gd–CuO exhibits strong interfacial electronic coupling, abundant oxygen vacancies, and highly exposed active sites, enabling efficient CO enrichment and C─C coupling toward selective and durable CO2‐to‐C2H4 conversion. ABSTRACT Copper‐based catalysts are promising for electrochemical CO2 reduction toward value‐added chemicals ...
