Dual-Side Hybrid Embedding Network for Gain Enhancement of Terahertz Amplifiers at Frequencies Near fmax [PDF]

open access: yesMicromachines
This paper proposes a dual-side hybrid embedding network (DHEN) to mitigate gain degradation in terahertz amplifiers at frequencies near fmax. The proposed approach employs a pre-embedding network for parasitic absorption, followed by Y-embedding for ...

Bent and Branched Microstrip-Line Antennas for Circular Polarization

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
We analyze three transmission-line antennas using the moment method. Each line antenna comprises a coplanar feed line, loops, and straight segments connecting the loops and feedline. First, we investigate bent and branched line antennas with loops on one

Multi-Band and High Gain Antenna Using AMC Ground Characterized With Four Zero-Phases of Reflection Coefficient

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this paper, a multi-band AMC-backed antenna system characterized with high gain and low-profile is proposed. It is constructed by placing a quad-band coplanar-waveguide (CPW) antenna over an AMC with four zero-phases in the reflection coefficient. The

Enhanced gain in photonic crystal amplifiers [PDF]

open access: yes2012 14th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2012
We experimentally demonstrate enhanced gain in the slow-light regime of quantum well photonic crystal amplifiers. A strong gain enhancement is observed with the increase of the group refractive index, due to light slow-down. The slow light enhancement is shown in an amplified spontaneous emission study of a 1 QW photonic crystal amplifier.

Design of a Printed 5G Monopole Antenna on Vehicle Window Glass Using Parasitic Elements and a Lattice-Structure Reflector for Gain Enhancement

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
This letter proposes a novel design for a printed 5G monopole antenna on a vehicle window glass. The proposed antenna consists of a coplanar waveguide (CPW), a monopole radiator, parasitic elements, and a lattice-structure reflector.

Design of a Novel Patch Antenna with Enhanced Gain and Side Lobe Reduction [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2012
The design of an efficient and directive small size antenna, for modern wireless applications, is a major challenge. This paper introduces the design and simulation of new method to enhance the gain and side lobe reduction that improve the performance of

Human-Specific Gain of Function in a Developmental Enhancer [PDF]

open access: yesScience, 2008
Changes in gene regulation are thought to have contributed to the evolution of human development. However, in vivo evidence for uniquely human developmental regulatory function has remained elusive. In transgenic mice, a conserved noncoding sequence ( HACNS1 ) that evolved extremely rapidly ...

Using Permutations to Enhance the Gain of RUQB Technique [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Information Technology and Web Engineering, 2012
Quantum key distribution (QKD) techniques usually suffer from a gain problem when comparing the final key to the generated pulses of quantum states. This research permutes the sets that RUQB (Abu-ayyash & Ajlouni, 2008) uses in order to increase the gain.
