Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Circularly Polarized Antenna With Polarization-Compliable PRS Unit Cells for Gain Enhancement and Sidelobe Suppression

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper presents a compact circularly polarized (CP) antenna that achieves high gain and low sidelobe levels (SLL) using a single-layer polarization-compliable partially reflective surface (PRS).

Examining local institutional networks for sustainable disaster management: Empirical evidence from the South-West coastal areas in Bangladesh

open access: yes, 2021
Local social networks are vital contributor to community resilience and recovery from disasters. We aim to assess how collaboration among local formal actors varies during different phases of disaster.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

A compact array antenna with enhanced-gain end-fire radiators for 28 GHz millimeter-wave user equipment

open access: yesFrontiers in Antennas and Propagation
This paper presents a new gain-enhancement technique for a compact dipole-Yagi antenna operating at 28 GHz for millimeter-wave 5G applications. Unlike conventional Yagi–Uda antennas, in which director elements are arranged only along a single plane in ...

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Enhancing Axial Ratio Bandwidth and Gain in Microstrip Antennas Through a 3D-Printed Curved Substrate

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation
Curved substrates, enabled by additive manufacturing (3D printing), have proven to be a reliable approach for achieving impedance bandwidth enhancement and efficiency improvement in linearly polarized microstrip patch antennas.

All-optical signal processing of periodic signals using a Brillouin gain comb [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The amplification of periodic signals using a Brillouin gain comb provides the opportunity to manipulate the amplitude and phase of a signal's individual spectral harmonics and, therefore, its temporal characteristics. In addition to obvious applications

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.
