Gait characteristics of subjects with chronic fatigue syndrome and controls at self-selected and matched velocities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Background: Gait abnormalities have been reported in individuals with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) however no studies exist to date investigating the kinematics of individuals with CFS in over-ground gait.

Evaluation of Validity and Reliability of Inertial Measurement Unit-Based Gait Analysis Systems

open access: yesAnnals of Rehabilitation Medicine, 2018
Objective To replace camera-based three-dimensional motion analyzers which are widely used to analyze body movements and gait but are also costly and require a large dedicated space, this study evaluates the validity and reliability of inertial ...

Highly Efficient 3D‐Printed PVDF‐Based Triboelectric Nanogenerators Featuring Polymorphic Perovskite Nanofillers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the use of a low‐cost 3D printing technique to prepare a large‐area PVDF‐FAPbI3 composite dielectric film for flexible TENG application. The δ→α phase transformation of the FAPbI3 nanofillers has significantly improved the β‐phase content, morphology, and dielectric properties of the PVDF film.

Model-based 3D gait biometrics

open access: yes, 2011
There have as yet been few gait biometrics approaches which use temporal 3D data. Clearly, 3D gait data conveys more information than 2D data and it is also the natural representation of human gait perceived by human.

Mechanical work performed by individual limbs of transfemoral amputees during step-to-step transitions: Effect of walking velocity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The greater metabolic demand during the gait of people with a transfemoral amputation limits their autonomy and walking velocity. Major modifications of the kinematic and kinetic patterns of transfemoral amputee gait quantified using gait analysis may ...

Self‐Poled Halide Perovskite Ruddlesden‐Popper Ferroelectric‐Photovoltaic Semiconductor Thin Films and Their Energy Harvesting Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐dimensional halide perovskite thin films, (BA)2(MA)n‐1PbnBr3n+1 (n = 1, 2), exhibit both semiconducting and ferroelectric properties, enabling mechanical and light energy harvesting. Using Cr/Cr₂O₃ or PCBM as barrier layers ensures reproducible ferroelectricity.

Transverse rotation and longitudinal translation during prosthetic gait - a literature review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Improved technology allows for more accurate gait analysis to increase awareness of nonoptimized prosthetic gait patterns and for the manufacture of sophisticated prosthetic components to improve nonoptimized gait patterns. However, prescriptions are

Gait analysis of unprovoked pig gait on clean and fouled concrete surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Inadequate floor properties are considered the primary cause of the majority of claw disorders in pigs but to date no clear relationship has been found between claw disorders and floor properties such as friction and surface abrasiveness.

Frontal Plane Knee Kinematics and Kinetics During Gait in Children and Youth with Achondroplasia—Correspondence with Static X-Ray Images and Relevance to Symptoms

open access: yesChildren
Background: Frontal knee malalignments are hallmarks of Achondroplasia (ACH), along with disproportional short stature. Typically, X-rays are used to assess them, but 3D gait analysis (3DGA) may additionally be used to evaluate dynamic knee function. The

2D Markerless Gait Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We present a 2D gait analysis system which is completely markerless and extracts kinematic information by analyzing video sequences obtained from an RGB video camera. These properties make the proposed approach particularly suitable in medical contexts where visual gait observation is still a recognised procedure or the invasiveness and high costs of ...
