Gait Analysis in the Mouse

Physiology & Behavior, 1999
The gait of the adult Swiss (Mike Flack--MF1 subtype) mouse during spontaneous walk/trot locomotion at velocities ranging from 14-43 cm s(-1) has been analysed using simultaneous video and reaction force analysis. No differences were observed between males and females.

The methodology of gait analysis and gaits of monkeys

American Journal of Physical Anthropology, 1965
AbstractMotion pictures were taken of two subadult monkeys (Macaca and Lagothrix) running and walking on level ground. The film strips were analyzed to determine the timing of the limb contacts with the surface. Generalizations and associations from the film analysis were used to construct a model system which categorizes gait types for quadrupedal ...

Clinical gait analysis

IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Magazine, 1988
Technologies and techniques that have evolved to aid in the assessment of human locomotion and some of the difficulties associated with the clinical application of quantitative gait analysis are examined. The parameters used for the clinical description of gait are outlined, and examples of application of clinical gait analysis are listed.

Acoustic Gaits: Gait Analysis With Footstep Sounds

IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 2015
We describe the acoustic gaits-the natural human gait quantitative characteristics derived from the sound of footsteps as the person walks normally. We introduce the acoustic gait profile, which is obtained from temporal signal analysis of sound of footsteps collected by microphones and illustrate some of the spatio-temporal gait parameters that can be

Quantitative human gait analysis

Simulation Practice and Theory, 2000
In this paper, the methodology for normal gait recognition and estimation is described. Normal gait recognition is derived on the basis of kinematics data of the human locomotion system. Measurements were carried out and the data was processed and statistically analyzed. The procedure was done on a group of twenty students.

Gait Analysis in Forensic Medicine*

Journal of Forensic Sciences, 2007
Abstract:  Recordings from video surveillance systems are used as evidence from crime scenes. It would be useful to perform comparisons between disguised perpetrators and suspects based on their gait. We applied functional anatomical and biomechanical knowledge to analyze the gait of perpetrators, as recorded on surveillance video.

A Smart Garment for Gait Analysis

Journal of Fashion Technology & Textile Engineering, 2018
Joint angles reveal useful information for diagnosis and treatment of some diseases. These are collected with camera-based systems in private rooms. However, these systems have disadvantages including expensive equipment, limited movement area and only indoor use.

Gait analysis using kinect: Towards in-home gait analysis

2017 25th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2017
Gait analysis helps people understand if they have any abnormalities in walking or helps clinicians assess fall-risk and determine how person's gait is different from previous assessments to understand the effect of medicine or disease progression. Gait analysis conducted in a laboratory environment is expensive and obtrusive that it is not suitable ...

Minisun IDEEA Life Gait for Gait Analysis

2021
Gait analysis is a method for identifying biomechanical abnormalities in the gait cycle. It is a way of assessing the way in which we walk and run. Force analysis is critical during rehabilitation process of amputation patients, since overloading might place the bone-implant interface at risk, while under loading might extend unnecessarily the already ...

Variability in Gait Analysis Interpretation

Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, 2000
The purpose of this study was to assess the reliability of interpretation of gait analysis data between physicians and institutions. Gait analysis data from seven patients were reviewed by 12 experienced gait laboratory physicians from six institutions.
