Measurements of the Higgs boson width and anomalous HVV couplings from on-shell and off-shell production in the four-lepton final state [PDF]
Studies of on-shell and off-shell Higgs boson production in the four-lepton final state are presented, using data from the CMS experiment at the LHC that correspond to an integrated luminosity of 80.2 fb−1 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV.

The wetted width of a river is one of the most important hydraulic parameters that can be readily measured using remote sensing. Remotely sensed river widths are used to estimate key attributes of river systems, including changes in their surface area ...

First passage and arrival time densities for L\'evy flights and the failure of the method of images
We discuss the first passage time problem in the semi-infinite interval, for homogeneous stochastic Markov processes with L{\'e}vy stable jump length distributions $\lambda(x)\sim\ell^{\alpha}/|x|^{1+\alpha}$ ($|x|\gg\ell$), namely, L{\'e}vy flights (LFs)

Wedge impact with the influence of ice [PDF]
This work presents a canonical study on a wedge entering water near a single piece of ice using computational-fluid-dynamics (CFD) and a Wagner-type theoretical model with corrections for non-linear effects.

Exact Analytical Solution to Perched Aquifer Problem of Steady Seepage Devoured by a Low-Permeable Sublayer: Kirkham-Brock?s Legacy Revisited [PDF]
Получено aналитическое решение для стационарного 2-мерного потенциального безнапорного фильтрационного потока из незакольматированного и не-экранированного земляного канала в высоко-проницаемый горизонт, с насыщенной зоной сужающейся к горизонтальной ...

Twin-width III: Max Independent Set, Min Dominating Set, and Coloring
We recently introduced the notion of twin-width, a novel graph invariant, and showed that first-order model checking can be solved in time f ( d, k ) n for n -vertex graphs given with a witness that the twin-width is at most d , called d -contraction ...

Clustering with the Average Silhouette Width
The Average Silhouette Width (ASW; Rousseeuw (1987)) is a popular cluster validation index to estimate the number of clusters. Here we address the question whether it also is suitable as a general objective function to be optimized for finding a ...

Singular eigenfunctions for shearing fluids I [PDF]
The authors construct singular eigenfunctions corresponding to the continuous spectrum of eigenvalues for shear flow in a channel. These modes are irregular as a result of a singularity in the eigenvalue problem at the critical layer of each mode.

Evidence for Large-N Phase Transitions in N=2* Theory
We solve, using localization, for the large-N master field of N=2* super-Yang-Mills theory. From that we calculate expectation values of large Wilson loops and the free energy on the four-sphere.
