Worldwide Invasions of Centrarchidae: The Dark Side of the Sunfish Family
ABSTRACT Freshwater fish invasions are major drivers of global ecological change, disrupting native biodiversity and ecosystem functions. However, many invasive fish hold significant socioeconomic value, resulting in conflict over their management. Centrarchidae, which are globally distributed and are important for sportfishing and aquaculture, are now

ABSTRACT Understanding genetic diversity and population structure is essential for the sustainable management of widely stocked freshwater species such as common carp (Cyprinus carpio). In this study, we conducted a comprehensive genetic assessment of C.

ABSTRACT The European perch Perca fluviatilis and pikeperch Sander lucioperca can co‐occur, potentially competing for food resources. However, few studies have addressed the potential feeding competition between these species. We used carbon and nitrogen stable isotope analysis to assess the potential trophic competition between these species in two ...

Beurteilung der Fruchtqualität beim Apfel im Rahmen des EU-Projekts Hidras [PDF]
The EU project Hidras (High Quality Disease Resistant Apples for a sustainable agriculture, QLK5-CT-2002-01-01492) aims to identify genetic factors controlling apple fruit quality with the objective of increasing the acceptability of disease resistant ...

The Amazon River‐Breeze Circulation Limits Detection of Aerosol‐Cloud Interactions in Warm Clouds
Abstract Increased aerosol concentrations can brighten low‐level clouds and extend their lifetimes, but aerosol–cloud interactions (ACI) remain highly uncertain and difficult to quantify. We show that part of this uncertainty is caused by topographical influences on clouds, that is, those arising from land–water contrasts.

Dark matter and Colliders searches in the MSSM
We study the complementarity between dark matter experiments (direct detection and indirect detections) and accelerator facilities (the CERN LHC and a $\sqrt{s}= 1$ TeV $e^+e^-$ Linear Collider) in the framework of the constrained Minimal Supersymmetric ...

Variability in apple fruit quality across management systems and latitudinal climate gradients
As the world transitions to more sustainable agricultural practices to combat environmental damage, it is important to investigate how different management systems shape the quality and nutrition of our crops. We analyzed apples from paired organic and conventional sites across the western United States.
