Kinematics of the Galactic Bulge
1992We present spectroscopic observations of ~200 giant stars in two fields toward the Galactic bulge. The positions of fields 588 and 589 are at l,b = (8,7) and (12,3), respectively, which corresponds to a Galactocentric distance of ~1.6 kpc for the stars in the bulge.

The Evolution of the Galactic Bulge
1992The central stellar bulge of the Milky Way is a distinct stellar population with age of order 10 Gyr and abundance range from -1.5 to nearly +1.0 dex. A portion of the AGB population in the bulges of the Milky Way, M31, and M32 is too luminous to have evolved from a stellar population as old as the globular clusters.
