Could Edible Photonic Structures Be an Alternative to Traditional Food Coloring?
What if color in food came from photonic structures? This perspective introduces structural color as a potential next‐generation solution to replace conventional colorants in foods. It discusses edible photonic materials, their unique benefits, and the technological, safety, and consumer acceptance challenges that must be addressed to bring this ...

Improved Disorder Resilience in Small‐Footprint Photonic Cavities with Periodicity Breaking
Compact photonic crystal cavities with engineered aperiodicity are demonstrated to sustain high quality factormodes and enhanced reproducibility within a minimal footprint. Combining numerical optimization and near‐field measurements, the study reveals how controlled periodicity breaking improves disorder resilience, offering a robust and scalable ...

This work dissects the ultrafast response of polydisperse plasmonic nanorods using two‐dimensional electronic spectroscopy, uniquely combining temporal and spectral resolution. Our ultrabroadband pulses cover both transverse and longitudinal nanorods’ resonances, revealing sub‐200‐fs dynamics and distinct broadening mechanisms.

A joint program with Japanese investigators to map carbon 2 line emission from the galaxy [PDF]
A large portion of the inner galactic plane has been mapped in the far-infrared (C II) line using a balloon-borne survey instrument. Complete coverage is reported from 25 degrees north to 80 degrees south of the galactic center and extending a few ...

A study of Galactic Plane Planck Galactic cold clumps observed by SCOPE and the JCMT Plane Survey
ABSTRACT We have investigated the physical properties of Planck Galactic Cold Clumps (PGCCs) located in the Galactic Plane, using the JCMT Plane Survey (JPS) and the SCUBA-2 Continuum Observations of Pre-protostellar Evolution (SCOPE) survey.
