Can Solar Cyclic Variability Mimic Extreme Solar Particle (Miyake) Events in Radiocarbon?
Abstract Rapid, strong enhancements in Δ14 ${{\Delta }}^{14}$C in the Earth's atmosphere, known as Miyake events, rarely occurred over the past millennia, pointing to major radiation storms affecting Earth. They are produced by extreme solar particle events (ESPEs) and are separated by an order‐of‐magnitude gap in the strength from directly observed ...

Serpentine Biocrust Microbes Maintain Nitrogen Cycling Under Drought and Heavy Metal Stress
This study highlights the complex interplay between soil geochemistry and moisture availability in shaping microbial communities within wetter and drier serpentine and non‐serpentine biological soil crusts. It demonstrates that both factors influence the structure of nitrogen‐cycling microbial communities and the processes they mediate.

ABSTRACT The current trend of individualized food items (nutrient content and flavor) can be particularly valuable to support people's health and well‐being in isolated environments where access to fresh foods and diverse nutrition is difficult. At the same time, bioactive compounds and micronutrients can be employed to countermeasure any health ...

Mechanistic Investigations of a Novel Lactam Antifungal Agent Against Candida albicans
ABSTRACT Candida albicans presents a major, yet underestimated challenge in clinical settings due to its increased resistance to treatment. This study intended to focus on the utility of a novel proprietary lactam molecule, a quorum sensing (QS) inhibitor, against C. albicans. We assessed isolate susceptibility to lactam treatment. In addition, RNA‐Seq

ABSTRACT Aim The Southeastern European Mountain System (SEEMS) is a well‐known glacial refugium for European fauna. Bridging the Mediterranean and Caucasus biodiversity hotspots, it is a melting point for diverse faunal elements, but also a center of origin and subsequent dispersal of a unique component of European biodiversity.

The SVP–FRO6 Module Integrates the Control of Leaf Senescence and Flowering in Arabidopsis
ABSTRACT Plants coordinate major developmental transitions by integrating intrinsic genetic programs with environmental signals, where nutrient availability serves as a critical external factor shaping growth and fitness. Iron (Fe), an essential micronutrient for cellular respiration and photosynthesis, is strictly regulated through sophisticated ...

ABSTRACT The Fermi paradox may partly reflect technological self‐destruction acting as a Great Filter during post‐industrial development. Because the empirical record consists of a single civilization observed over an eighty‐year nuclear age, the exercise reported here is best understood as a structured, historically anchored scenario analysis rather ...
