Stochastic Quantum Mechanics in Curved Spaces: Application to Schwarzschild Black Holes
ABSTRACT In this work, we start from the hypothesis that the universe lives in a Gravitational Wave Background (GWB). From this hypothesis, it follows that space–time is not locally flat because we have to take into account the fluctuations of the GWB in space–time. This implies that sufficiently small particles will feel these oscillations, preventing

The Dynamics of the Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy FS 76: Bridging the Kinematic Dichotomy between Elliptical and Dwarf Elliptical Galaxies [PDF]
We present major- and minor-axis kinematics out to ˜2 half-light radii for the bright (MB = -16.7) dwarf elliptical galaxy (dE) FS 76, a member of the NGC 5044 group. Its velocity dispersion is 46 ‘ 2 km s-1 in the center and rises to 70 ‘ 10 km s-1 at half-light radius. Beyond 1Re, the dispersion starts to fall again.

A review of multiscale numerical modeling of rock mechanics and rock engineering
Multiscale numerical methods of rock mechanics and rock engineering are reviewed, and the review results show that more attention should be paid to the development of an advanced constitutive model in addition to numerical techniques themselves. Abstract Rock is geometrically and mechanically multiscale in nature, and the traditional phenomenological ...

A Dynamical and Kinematic Model of the Galactic Stellar Halo and Possible Implications for Galaxy Formation Scenarios [PDF]
We re-analyse the kinematics of the system of blue horizontal branch field (BHBF) stars in the Galactic halo (in particular the outer halo), fitting the kinematics with the model of radial and tangential velocity dispersions in the halo as a function of galactocentric distance r proposed by Sommer-Larsen, Flynn & Christensen (1994), using a much ...

Multi‐Modal Instrument Performances (MMIP): A Musical Database
Abstract Musical instrument performances are multimodal creative art forms that integrate audiovisual elements, resulting from musicians' interactions with instruments through body movements, finger actions, and facial expressions. Digitizing such performances for archiving, streaming, analysis, or synthesis requires capturing every element that shapes

Abstract Microgravity is associated with stature increases, back pain and post‐flight intervertebral disc (IVD) herniation. This study aims to determine whether 30 s seated 50% body weight (BW) axial loading is comparable to 15 min sitting upright in 1 g upon changes in stature, anterior lumbar IVD height (via ultrasound), passive vertebral stiffness ...

JWST Imaging of the Closest Globular Clusters—V. The White Dwarfs Cooling Sequence of M4
ABSTRACT We combine infrared (IR) observations collected by the James Webb Space Telescope with optical deep images by the Hubble Space Telescope taken ~20 years earlier to compute proper‐motion membership for the globular cluster (GC) M4 (NGC 6121) along its entire white dwarf (WD) cooling sequence (CS).
