ZELDOVICH LOCAL PANCAKE: DARK ENERGY DOMINATION

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2018
Zeldovich Local Pancake is a two-dimensional system of 15 giant galaxies nearest to us. Two of the galaxies, the Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy, move to each other in the Local Group, while the rest of the galaxies are located around the group at ...

First detection of galaxy-galaxy-galaxy lensing in RCS [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2008
The weak gravitational lensing effect, small coherent distortions of galaxy images by means of a gravitational tidal field, can be used to study the relation between the matter and galaxy distribution. In this context, weak lensing has so far only been used for considering a second-order correlation function that relates the matter density and galaxy ...

Self‐Powered Flexible Triboelectric‐Gated Ion‐Gel Transistor for Neuromorphic Tactile Sensing and Human Activity Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A fully flexible ion‐gel‐gated graphene‐channel transistor driven by a triboelectric nanogenerator enables self‐powered tactile sensing and synaptic learning. Mimicking spike‐rate‐dependent plasticity, the device exhibits frequency‐selective potentiation and depression, supporting rate‐coded neuromorphic computation even under flex.

Modeling the Radial Color Profile of M31

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2003
We present a preliminary study of a fragment of the radial color profile of the spiral galaxy M 31 in terms of 2-D model accounting for internal extinction in the disk. The two stellar population disk model was assumed.

Predictions and Outcomes for the Dynamics of Rotating Galaxies

open access: yesGalaxies, 2020
A review is given of a priori predictions made for the dynamics of rotating galaxies. One theory—MOND—has had many predictions corroborated by subsequent observations.
