Globular clusters kinematics and dynamical models of the massive early-type galaxy NGC 1399

Astrophysics and Space Science, 2016
We analyze the dynamical models of the massive early-type galaxy NGC 1399, the central galaxy of the Fornax cluster. We use the sample of 790 globular clusters as tracers of gravitational potential and we first extract the kinematics, which is then dynamically modeled.

Planetary Nebulae as kinematic and dynamical tracers of galaxy halos

2015
The kinematics and dynamical properties of galaxy halos are difficult to measure, given the faint stellar surface brightness that characterizes those regions. Gas-rich systems such as spiral galaxies can be probed using the radio emission of their gas component.

The Dynamics and kinematics of galaxies in the Universe's Middle Ages

The evolutionary pathways a galaxy can follow are many and varied. Across billions of years of cosmic history, galaxies can experience numerous in situ and ex situ processes, each of which can leave a mark on their internal mass distribution and stellar kinematics.
