Reports on Progress in Physics, 1973
The authors have summarized the present knowledge of the stellar content of our galaxy and discussed at some length the use of this knowledge in creating a dynamical framework that can be used in the attempt to understand galaxies in general.

On the periodical structures in populations of galaxies and of clusters of galaxies
Astronomische Nachrichten, 1989AbstractAnalysing the distribution of the redshift of clusters of galaxies, obtained from the catalogue of SCHMIDT (1986), two already known periodical structures were confirmed and both periods were extended by a number of periods — approximately by two times (We elucidated 5 new periods in the first structure and 4 in the second.).

In this contribution I will review the state of the field of structure of galaxies in general terms. I will concentrate on open questions rather than recent achievements. The discussion will not be aimed at experts in the field, but at a rather broader audience.

The stellar structure of irregular galaxies. Face-on galaxies
Astronomy Reports, 2005Stellar photometry of nearby irregular galaxies of the Local Group is used to identify and study the young and old stellar populations of these galaxies. An analysis of the spatial distributions of stars of different ages in face-on galaxies shows that the young stellar populations in irregular galaxies are concentrated toward the center, and form ...

The Structure and Rotation of the Galaxy
Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1932For uncounted generations thoughtful men, philosophers and mathematicians, physicists and astronomers, as well as many other students, have been puzzling over the nature of our surroundings in space. They have not been satisfied, as I am afraid many of us are satisfied, with their merely terrestrial surroundings but have tiied to penetrate the almost ...

The Structure of Galaxy Clusters
1992I discuss both equilibrium and nonequilibrium methods for determining the masses of galaxy clusters, and point out the difficulties encountered when applying these methods to real optical and X—ray data. The best data sets now give quite precise determinations of the mass in the inner regions of relaxed clusters. The observed ratio of baryonic to total

The Structure of Elliptical Galaxies
1988Recent imaging investigations highlight the structural diversity of elliptical galaxies. The distribution of light within the cores and envelopes shows a wide range in central and average system stellar densities at any galaxy luminosity. These variations appear to offer new information on galaxy formation mechanisms.
