The Formation of Disks in Galaxies
1992Different chemo-dynamical models dealing with the formation of stellar disks in the course of galaxy evolution are presented. One-dimensional models concerning the vertical stratification of disks are in strikingly good agreement with the solar vicinity.

1989In this review, four aspects of the light distribution in galactic disks are addressed: (1) Following the pioneering work by de Vaucouleurs in the 1950’s, we know that the majority of disks have a radial surface brightness distribution that follows an exponential law.
