Edge‐on disk galaxies in the SDSS DR6: Fractions of bulgeless and other disk galaxies [PDF]
AbstractThe aim of this study is to determine the fractions of different spiral galaxy types, especially bulgeless disks, from a complete and homogeneous sample of 15 127 edge‐on disk galaxies extracted from the sixth data release from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey.

A Review of Failure Modes and Safety Strategies of Lithium‐Ion Batteries from Materials to Systems
A cascade‐aware framework is presented for lithium‐ion battery safety, linking thermal runaway initiation, acceleration, runaway reaction, and propagation with material‐, cell/pack‐, and system‐level interventions. By integrating failure mechanisms, quantitative safety indicators, and staged interception strategies, this review highlights how safer ...

Germanium‐Based Mid‐Infrared Integrated Photonics
The mid‐infrared (mid‐IR) spectral range is a part of the electromagnetic spectrum in which most of the molecules have vibrational and rotational resonances. Photonics integration in this wavelength range have thus seen a burst of interest in the recent years, mainly driven by applications related with the detection of chemical and biological ...

We present our new scheme for the classification of radial stellar surface brightness profiles for disk galaxies. We summarize the current theoretical attempts to understand their origin and give an example of an application by comparing local galaxies with their counterparts at high redshift (z~1).

Seasonal enterotoxaemia outbreaks in goats from the Peshawar and Charsadda districts were investigated through large‐scale faecal sampling, bacterial isolation, PCR‐based molecular confirmation of the etx gene, antimicrobial susceptibility testing and clinico‐therapeutic trials. The study demonstrates higher disease prevalence during spring and winter,

The Formation of Disk Galaxies [PDF]
In this talk, I will discuss a few particular topics, rather than attempting a general review of the formation of disk galaxies. First recall the basic structure and kinematics of a disk galaxy like the Milky Way. The Table below lists the four main structural components as they are presently understood, and gives typical masses, and (if known) the ...

Correlated supernovae from an OB association create a superbubble: a large, thin, shell of cold gas surrounding a hot pressurized interior. Because supernova blast waves usually become subsonic before reaching the walls of the shell or cooling radiatively, the energy input from supernovae may be reasonably approximated as a continuous luminosity. Using
