Cerebrovascular pulsatility following long duration spaceflight is associated with changes in pulse pressure and carotid artery stiffness

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Central artery stiffening increases the haemodynamic pulsations transmitted downstream towards target organs, including the brain. While recent evidence suggests that long duration spaceflight is associated with reduced common carotid artery (CCA) distensibility, cerebrovascular pulsatility has not been extensively characterized in astronauts.

Spaceborne and spaceborn: Physiological aspects of pregnancy and birth during interplanetary flight

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Crewed interplanetary return missions that are on the planning horizon will take years, more than enough time for initiation and completion of a pregnancy. Pregnancy is viewed as a sequence of processes – fertilization, blastocyst formation, implantation, gastrulation, placentation, organogenesis, gross morphogenesis, birth and neonatal ...

Investigating the Impact of Virtual Reality Panoramas on Children's Water Safety Knowledge and Interest and Enjoyment

open access: yesJournal of Computer Assisted Learning, Volume 42, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Unintentional drowning is a leading cause of injury and death among children worldwide, and inadequate water safety education is a significant contributing factor. Innovative technologies such as virtual reality [VR] have the potential to teach children about safety and reduce the risk of accidental injury.

Supramolecular Aggregates of Amino Acid‐Functionalized 1,8‐Naphthalimides for Chiral Recognition

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 7, July 2026.
We synthesized three self‐assembling, amino acid‐functionalized 1,8‐naphthalimides. We studied their aggregation in solution and demonstrated their chiral recognition ability by fluorescence and resonance light scattering measurements. Notably, these fluorescent probes maintain their chiral recognition ability when incorporated in solid supports like ...

A Dialogue on Revolutions and Revolutionaries in Science: A Perspective From Quantum Mechanics

open access: yesNatural Sciences, Volume 6, Issue 3, July 2026.
ABSTRACT We discuss the notions of scientific revolutions and revolutionaries in the context of the Relativity Revolution and of the First, Second, and Third Quantum Revolutions. We conclude that at the core of the question of what qualifies as a revolution and revolutionary is an assessment of the gradients of knowledge accumulation over time, both at

Developmental Change in Structure Learning Reflects a Shift From Recency‐Based to Relational Prediction

open access: yesDevelopmental Science, Volume 29, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Children are adept statistical learners, capable of parsing streams of structured input into meaningful units, but the cognitive processes they engage during learning may differ from those of adults. To date, however, it is unclear how learners of different ages predict upcoming experience when navigating environments with complex structure ...
