On the Particle Acceleration Mechanisms in a Double Radio Relic Galaxy Cluster, Abell 1240
We present a 368 ks deep Chandra observation of Abell 1240, a binary merging galaxy cluster at a redshift of 0.195 with two brightest cluster galaxies that may have passed each other 0.3 Gyr ago.

Clustering of Mass and Galaxies [PDF]
These lectures cover various aspects of the statistical description of cosmological density fields. Observationally, this consists of the point process defined by galaxies, and the challenge is to relate this to the continuous density field generated by gravitational instability in dark matter.

Synergies in Self‐Assembly—From Supramolecular Polymers to Defined Hierarchical Superstructures
Shaping supramolecular polymers built from molecular building blocks into superstructures with defined dimensions. Synergies within supramolecular architectures such as chirality or an additional second orthogonal driving force that does not interfere with the central supramolecular motif facilitate the confinement of the growth of these ...

Optical Photometric Indicators of Galaxy Cluster Relaxation
The most dynamically relaxed clusters of galaxies play a special role in cosmological studies as well as astrophysical studies of the intracluster medium (ICM) and active galactic nucleus feedback.

The environment of active objects in the nearby universe
We study the galaxy environment of active galaxies, radio-loud and radio-quiet quasars in the redshift range $0.1\leq z\leq0.25$. We use APM galaxies in order to explore the local galaxy overdensity and the $b_J-R$ colour distribution of neighbouring ...

Effects of Galactic Irradiation on Thermal and Electronic Transport in Tungsten
This atomic‐scale study reveals how low‐to‐mid‐energy space irradiation alters tungsten's thermal and electronic behavior, even at low defect levels. Focusing on vacancy sites in bulk and near grain boundaries, it employs two novel approaches: site‐projected thermal conductivity and the N2$^{2}$ method for the thermal and electronic response analysis ...

Intrinsic Mass–Richness Relation of Clusters from THE THREE HUNDRED Hydrodynamic Simulations
The main systematics in cluster cosmology is the uncertainty in the mass–observable relation. In this paper, we focus on the most direct cluster observable in optical surveys, i.e., richness, and constrain the intrinsic mass–richness (MR) relation of ...

Restrictions on Extended Gravity at Galaxy Clusters Scales
Following [1] we discuss the predictions of Starobinsky model of f(R)-gravity with vanishing cosmological constant at galaxy and galaxy clusters scales.
