Correlation Between the Delay and Rise Time of VLF/LF Amplitudes During 20 Solar X‐Ray Flares Observed in February 2014 at Mid‐Latitude

open access: yesRadio Science, Volume 60, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract During daylight hours, the concentration of electrons in the ionosphere can be amplified by solar flares, which may subsequently influence the propagation of radio waves. Previous research on Very Low Frequency (VLF) signals focused on X‐class and M‐class flares.

The Magnetosphere‐Ionosphere‐Ground Responses to the May 2024 Super Solar Storm

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 23, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract Earth suffered the attack of the strongest geomagnetic storm in the last 20 years (Kp = 9, Dst∼ ${\sim} $ −400 nT) occurred on 11 May 2024. Taking advantage of the LEO multi‐parameter CSES satellite (launched in 2018) with a large inclination angle 97° $97{}^{\circ}$, with the joint observations of NOAA and GOES, we present a comprehensive ...

Global warming and obesity: External heat exposure as a modulator of energy balance

open access: yesFASEB BioAdvances, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2025.
Core body temperature regulation can significantly influence metabolic processes to maintain energy balance. For example, geographic and environmental factors (global warming) can affect obesity rates and can be tracked along latitudinal boundaries.

The Quorum Sensing Regulated sRNA Lrs1 Is Involved in the Adaptation to Low Iron in Pseudomonas aeruginosa

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 17, Issue 2, April 2025.
The quorum sensing regulated sRNA Lrs1 participates in the adaptation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in low iron by downregulating the siderophore pyochelin, the Quorum Sensing system PQS, and its associated virulence factor phenazines. ABSTRACT Iron is an essential nutrient for microbial growth. The opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa can survive

Review of asteroid, meteor, and meteorite‐type links

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 60, Issue 4, Page 928-973, April 2025.
Abstract With the goal to determine the origin of our meteorites in the asteroid belt, video and photographic observations of meteors have now tracked 75 meteorite falls. Six years ago, there were just hints that different meteorite types arrived on different orbits, but now, the number of orbits (N) is high enough for distinct patterns to emerge.
