The environment of seyfert galaxies
Chinese Astronomy and Astrophysics, 1986Abstract We made a nearest neighbour analysis on the cluster galaxies in the CfA sample. We found that galaxies with nearest distances below 20 kpc show a clear excess of Seyfert nuclei (i.e., the incidence of Seyferts among such galaxies is about 3 times higher than the average).

Galaxies and their Environment
1982Most galaxies are isolated systems because of their large mutual distances and the quasi-stationary character of their evolution (Section I.1). This is not always true; a high degree of clustering is evident in the space distribution of galaxies and there are volumes where close encounters are frequent, producing exchanges of energy and mass between ...

Galaxy Environment and Clusters of Galaxies
1994The galaxy population of clusters of galaxies is clearly different from the “field” population. While some of the static parameters, morphology for instance, are quite likely defined at formation, others, HI content, are strongly modified during the cluster lifetime due to the interaction of the objects with their environment.
