The impact of global environment on galaxy mass functions at low redshift [PDF]
We study the galaxy stellar mass function in different environments in the local Universe, considering both the total mass function and that of individual galaxy morphological types. We compare the mass functions of galaxies with $\rm log_{10} M_{\star}/M_{\odot} \geq 10.25$ in the general field and in galaxy groups, binary and single galaxy systems ...

Evaluation of Arclight Frugal Smartphone Video Otoscopy
Frugal innovations are essential in low‐resource settings to provide cost‐effective medical solutions without compromising functionality. The Arclight, which functions as both an ophthalmoscope and an otoscope, is an effective, low‐cost tool for (video) ear examinations in low‐resource settings.

Pseudo bulges in galaxy groups: the role of environment in secular evolution [PDF]
We examine the dependence of the fraction of galaxies containing pseudo bulges on environment for a flux limited sample of $\sim$5000 SDSS galaxies. We have separated bulges into classical and pseudo bulge categories based on their position on the Kormendy diagram. Pseudo bulges are thought to be formed by internal processes and are a result of secular

Abstract Diatom‐dominated blooms in coastal upwelling systems contribute disproportionately to global primary production. The fate of carbon captured during a diatom bloom is often influenced by species‐specific ecological differences. However, successional patterns that take place during a diatom bloom are often oversimplified, and the diversity of ...

Multidrug resistant Pseudomonas (P.) aeruginosa is detected in many infected wounds and is challenging to treat with antibiotics. As an alternative, this work incorporates anti‐P. aeruginosa Neko phages into electrospun fibres to explore their potential for treating infected wounds.

Homochiral Self‐Sorting During Macrocycle Formation and their Chiroptical Properties
Imine condensation of C2‐symmetric chiral aldehydes with aliphatic amines results in 2 : 2 macrocycles lacking self‐sorting, whereas aromatic amines yield macrocycles with complete homochiral self‐sorting. These macrocycles exhibit unique chiroptical properties attributed to rigidification compared to the starting aldehydes.

Environment of Quiescent Low-mass Galaxies Hosting AGNs in MaNGA
The discovery of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) in low-mass ( M _* ≤ 5 × 10 ^9 M _⊙ ) galaxies has pushed forward the idea that AGN feedback may play a role in quenching star formation in the low-mass regime.

Similarity Assessment of the Engineering Concepts: Decision‐Making Support and Metrics
ABSTRACT The new product development (NPD) process is a systematic approach to bring new products and innovations to market. Nowadays, this process is affected by a number of influencing factors associated with the fast‐paced technological changes. One of those factors is the distributed design nature of product development activities: team members are

MAGAZ3NE: Evidence for Galactic Conformity in z ≳ 3 Protoclusters
We examine the quiescent fractions of massive galaxies in six z ≳ 3 spectroscopically confirmed protoclusters in the COSMOS field, one of which is newly confirmed and presented here. We report the spectroscopic confirmation of MAGAZ3NE J100143+023021 at $

Science Triggers and Situational Interest in Everyday Family Life
ABSTRACT Interest in science is critical for science learning. The family plays a major role in supporting the development of children's interest in science by eliciting and fostering interest and engagement with science content and practice. This study characterizes triggers for interest in science in everyday family life and measures the duration of ...
