Galaxy Groups at Intermediate Redshift [PDF]
Galaxy groups likely to be virialized are identified within the CNOC2 intermediate redshift galaxy survey using an iterative method. The number-velocity dispersion relation is in agreement with the low-mass extrapolation of the cluster normalized Press-Schechter function.

Properties of Galaxy Groups in the SDSS: I.-- The Dependence of Colour, Star Formation, and Morphology on Halo Mass [PDF]
Using a large galaxy group catalogue constructed from the SDSS, we investigate the correlation between various galaxy properties and halo mass. We split the population of galaxies in early types, late types, and intermediate types, based on their colour ...

Groups and Protocluster Candidates in the CLAUDS and HSC-SSP Joint Deep Surveys
Using the extended halo-based group finder developed by Yang et al., which is able to deal with galaxies via spectroscopic and photometric redshifts simultaneously, we construct galaxy group and candidate protocluster catalogs in a wide redshift range (0

Galaxy pairs in the Local Group [PDF]
Abstract Current models of galaxy formation predict that galaxy pairs of comparable magnitudes should become increasingly rare with decreasing luminosity. This seems at odds with the relatively high frequency of pairings among dwarf galaxies in the Local Group. We use literature data to show that ∼30 per cent of all the satellites of the

Infall of galaxies onto groups [PDF]
Context. The growth of the structure within the Universe manifests in the form of accretion flows of galaxies onto groups and clusters. Thus, the present-day properties of groups and their member galaxies are influenced by the characteristics of this continuous infall pattern.

The PAndAS View of the Andromeda Satellite System. IV. Global Properties
We build a statistical framework to infer the global properties of the satellite system of the Andromeda galaxy (M31) from the properties of individual dwarf galaxies located in the Pan-Andromeda Archaelogical Survey (PAndAS) and the previously ...

Reionization of the Local Group of galaxies [PDF]
We present the first detailed structure formation and radiative transfer simulations of the reionization history of our cosmic neighbourhood. To this end, we follow the formation of the Local Group of galaxies and nearby clusters by means of constrained simulations, which use the available observational constraints to construct a representation of ...

Multiwavelength Observations of the Second Largest Known FR II Radio Galaxy, NVSS 2146+82 [PDF]
We present multi-frequency VLA, multicolor CCD imaging, optical spectroscopy, and ROSAT HRI observations of the giant FR II radio galaxy NVSS 2146+82. This galaxy, which was discovered by the NRAO VLA Sky Survey (NVSS), has an angular extent of nearly 20'

Properties of Fossil Groups of Galaxies [PDF]
We review the formation and evolution of fossil groups and clusters from both the theoretical and the observational points of view. In the optical band, these systems are dominated by the light of the central galaxy. They were interpreted as old systems that had enough time to merge all the M* galaxies within the central one.

First results of the XI Groups Project: Studying an unbiased sample of galaxy groups [PDF]
X-ray observations of hot, intergalactic gas in galaxy groups provide a useful means of characterizing the global properties of groups. However, X-ray studies of large group samples have typically involved very shallow X-ray exposures or have been based ...
