The Properties of Poor Groups of Galaxies: II. X-ray and Optical Comparisons
We use ROSAT PSPC data to study the X-ray properties of a sample of twelve poor groups that have extensive membership information (Zabludoff and Mulchaey 1997; Paper I). Diffuse X-ray emission is detected in nine of these groups.

Abstract Objectives Preterm birth (<37 weeks), low birth weight (2500 g), small‐for‐gestational‐age (birth weight <10th percentile of a given reference), and large‐for‐gestational‐age (birth weight >90th percentile of a given reference) are indicators of vulnerable infants and risk factors for neonatal mortality. We estimated the prevalence and risk of

Clustering of Galaxies and Groups in the NOG Sample [PDF]
We use the two-point correlation function in redshift space, $\xi(s)$, to study the clustering of the galaxies and groups of the Nearby Optical Galaxy (NOG) Sample, which is a nearly all-sky, complete, magnitude-limited sample of \~7000 bright and nearby optical galaxies.

Abstract MicroRNAs (miRNAs or miRs) are small, non‐coding RNAs that play a crucial role in gene regulation, making them potential biomarkers for various diseases. In the field of veterinary medicine, there is a growing interest in exploring the diagnostic and therapeutic potential of miRNAs in kidney diseases affecting dogs and cats.

Women in space: A review of known physiological adaptations and health perspectives
Abstract Exposure to the spaceflight environment causes adaptations in most human physiological systems, many of which are thought to affect women differently from men. Since only 11.5% of astronauts worldwide have been female, these issues are largely understudied.

Abstract Microgravity is associated with stature increases, back pain and post‐flight intervertebral disc (IVD) herniation. This study aims to determine whether 30 s seated 50% body weight (BW) axial loading is comparable to 15 min sitting upright in 1 g upon changes in stature, anterior lumbar IVD height (via ultrasound), passive vertebral stiffness ...

Abstract The Solar, Anomalous, and Magnetospheric Explorer (SAMPEX) mission launched in July 1992 was the first NASA “Small Explorer” project. It had the goal to show how space missions could be developed much more rapidly than had become the situation in the 1980s and 1990s.

Satellite galaxies can be used to indicate the dynamic mass of galaxy groups and clusters. In this study, we apply the axisymmetric Jeans Anisotropic Multi-Gaussian Expansion ( JAM ) modeling to satellite galaxies in 28 galaxy clusters selected from the ...
