GCN5‐related histone acetyltransferase HOOKLESS2 regulates fungal resistance and growth in tomato

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 246, Issue 3, Page 1217-1235, May 2025.
Summary The functions of histone acetyltransferases (HATs) in the genetic control of crop traits and the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. We studied the function of tomato HOOKLESS2 (SlHLS2), a member of the GCN5 family of HATs, through genetic, molecular and genomic approaches. Tomato hls2 mutants generated through CRISPR‐cas9 gene editing

Circadian clock disruption promotes retinal photoreceptor degeneration

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 7, 15 April 2025.
Mice carrying a knock‐in of the P23H mutation of the rhodopsin gene are a well‐characterized model of retinitis pigmentosa (RP), a hereditary retinal degeneration affecting primarily rods. Here, by combining the P23H Rho mutation with the rod‐specific invalidation of the Bmal1 clock gene and by performing functional, structural, and molecular analyses,

Trophic Plasticity of the Invasive Redbelly Tilapia (Coptodon zillii) in China Inferred From DNA Metabarcoding Analysis

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2025.
The feeding patterns of invasive populations of C. zillii in different habitats and seasons within a large‐scale geographic area (spanning 9.86° latitude and 10.47° longitude) in China were directly compared. ABSTRACT The redbelly tilapia (Coptodon zillii) is one of the most dangerous invasive alien fishes in the world.

Comparative Genomic and Mitochondrial Phylogenetic Relationships of Ovulidae (Mollusca: Gastropoda) Along the Chinese Coast

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2025.
This study explores the phylogeny and mitochondrial genomics of Ovulidae, a family of marine gastropods related to Cypraeidae, by analyzing mitochondrial genomes from 14 of 15 species collected off China's coast. Key findings include the reclassification of genera Naviculavolva and Contrasimnia to the subfamily Prionovolvinae, evidence against the ...

An Efficient Multi‐Core DSP Power Management Controller

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2025.
This work proposes a power management controller for multi‐core DSP architectures, specifically designed for FT‐xDSP. The primary contributions include a clamp request control unit to ensure system stability during asynchronous resets, and a configurable state transition counter that optimizes clock transitions.
