I Would Rather Die: Postcolonial Analysis of Rebellion Speeches in Star Wars: Andor

open access: yesThe Journal of Popular Culture, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In Star Wars: Andor, the choice for prisoners of Narkina 5 was clear: freedom or death. Two critical speeches from the Narkina 5 prison episodes demonstrate how to disrupt the power of the Empire and the human cost of rebellion. There are parallels between these speeches and the history of rebellion on Earth. This paper will use these speeches

Recoiling Black Hole Candidates from Spatially Offset Broad Emission Lines in MaNGA

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
From the Mapping Nearby Galaxies at Apache Point Observatory (MaNGA) survey, we identify 14 off-nuclear broad (FWHM > 1000 km s ^−1 ) H α and/or H β emission line sources that indicate spatially offset active galactic nuclei (AGN) candidates. In addition

The Effect of Deep Brain Stimulation on Sleep and Cognition in Patients With Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sleep–wake disturbances and cognitive decline are among the most common nonmotor symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD). Deep brain stimulation (DBS) can successfully alleviate motor symptoms. However, the impact on sleep–wake disturbances and cognitive decline, and their interaction, is yet unclear.

Truncations in the X-Ray Halos of Early-type Galaxies as a Tracer of Feedback and Mergers

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The morphology of X-ray halos in early-type galaxies depends on key structure assembly processes, such as feedback and mergers. However, the signatures of these processes are difficult to characterize due to their faint and amorphous nature.

The role of mergers on galaxy evolution

open access: yes, 2019
Galaxy mergers represent a cornerstone of our theory of hierarchical growth. However, the impact of mergers reaches far beyond the simple growth of stellar mass, since they can lead to dramatic changes in morphology, star formation rate, metallicity, gas content and nuclear accretion.

Noble gases and nitrogen in material from asteroid Bennu

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract We report the elemental and isotopic abundances of all stable noble gases (helium, neon, argon, krypton, and xenon) in eight particles from asteroid Bennu returned by NASA's OSIRIS‐REx mission. We also report nitrogen abundances and isotopic ratios that were analyzed alongside neon and argon in four additional Bennu particles.

Evidence for a Redshifted Excess in the Intracluster Light Fractions of Merging Clusters at z ∼ 0.8

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
The intracluster light (ICL) fraction is a well-known indicator of the dynamical activity in intermediate-redshift clusters. Merging clusters in the redshift interval 0.18 < z < 0.56 have a distinctive peak in the ICL fractions measured between ∼3800 and
