Mimicking Symmetry‐Breaking Einstein Ring by Optical Lens

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 6, June 2025.
This article uses an optical lens to emulate the gravitational lensing effect and observe the Einstein ring (ER) patterns. The symmetry‐breaking ER, i.e., Einstein cross, is observed utilizing a rotation‐symmetry‐breaking hemi‐ellipsoid lens. Deformed Einstein cross patterns induced by noncollinearly alignment of the light source–lens–observer are ...

Scintillation Response of 0D Cs3Cu2I5 Thin Layers to Light‐ and Heavy‐Ion Irradiation

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 6, June 2025.
Driven by increasing interest in uncovering the remarkable photoluminescence quantum yield of Cs3Cu2I5, polycrystalline thin layers are synthesized to investigate its radioluminescence response to energetic ions. Its spectroscopic capability is assessed in a wide range of ion mass and internal excitation processes are explored.

Silicosarcoidosis: Histologic and Clinical Features of an Occupational Granulomatous Disease

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Industrial Medicine, Volume 68, Issue 6, Page 491-507, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Sarcoidosis is a multisystem inflammatory disease of unknown etiology. Growing evidence indicates that occupational exposure to respirable crystalline silica (RCS) is associated with an increased incidence of sarcoidosis. Yet a diagnosis of sarcoidosis rarely prompts investigation to identify preventable exposures.

On the Age Distribution of Classical Cepheids in the Galaxy

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, Volume 346, Issue 5, June 2025.
ABSTRACT We revisit the problem of the positive correlation between age and Galactocentric distance seen in Galactic Classical Cepheids, which at first sight may seem counter‐intuitive in the context of inside‐out galaxy formation. To explain it, we use the Besançon Galaxy Model and a simulation of star particles in the Galactic disc coupled with ...

Unveiling the Evolutionary Lineages and Habitat Dynamics of the Monotypic Crowned River Turtle Hardella thurjii (Gray, 1831) (Testudines: Geoemydidae): Strategic Conservation Insights for an Endangered Freshwater Turtle From Southern Asia

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2025.
This study provides the first complete mitochondrial genome of the monotypic H. thurjii , sequenced using next‐generation technologies. Additionally, it employs ensemble species distribution modeling to evaluate habitat suitability and shape geometry under both current and projected climatic scenarios.

The microbiologist's guide to metaproteomics

open access: yesiMeta, Volume 4, Issue 3, June 2025.
Metaproteomics within the multi‐omics framework provides a comprehensive view of microbial systems by identifying proteins, quantifying their levels, detecting posttranslational modifications (PTMs), mapping protein–protein interactions (PPIs), and localizing proteins.
