Superconvergence and H(div) projection for discontinuous Galerkin methods
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, 2003AbstractWe introduce and analyse a projection of the discontinuous Galerkin (DG) velocity approximations that preserve the local mass conservation property. The projected velocities have the additional property of continuous normal component. Both theoretical and numerical convergence rates are obtained which show that the accuracy of the DG velocity ...

POD-Galerkin Projection of Flapping Wings
49th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting including the New Horizons Forum and Aerospace Exposition, 2011Direct numerical simulation (DNS) and POD-Galerkin projection using a general pressure correction method are conducted for a flapping wing in pitching and plunging motion with a pitching amplitude of 10o, 20o and 30o. POD analysis shows that most turbulent kinetic energy (95%) is contained by the first four modes.
