Cannabidiol and cannabigerol ameliorate steatotic liver disease via phosphocreatine buffering and lysosomal restoration

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 12, Page 3173-3194, June 2026.
Cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabigerol (CBG) alleviate hepatic steatosis in obese mice by shifting energy buffering towards phosphocreatine and enhancing lysosomal lipid degradation and trafficking. These effects are associated with increased creatine kinase activity and lysobisphosphatidic acid (LBPA) levels, highlighting a previously unrecognised ...

Spectral entropy variability of intraoperative electrocorticography predicts outcome after epilepsy surgery in people with focal cortical dysplasia

open access: yesEpilepsia, Volume 67, Issue 5, Page 2117-2130, May 2026.
Abstract Objective Epilepsy surgery in people with focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) requires accurate removal of all epileptogenic tissue, and outcome is difficult to predict. We explored whether spectral entropy, a fast computable electroencephalographic (EEG) feature, could estimate epileptic activity in intraoperative electrocorticography (ioECoG) and

Channel morphology and large wood control postfire debris‐flow erosion and deposition

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 51, Issue 4, April 2026.
Key Points Debris flows can preferentially deposit in areas where there is a spatial and temporal change in the entrenchment ratio of the channel. Wood dams and jams can both retain debris‐flow sediment, encouraging deposition, and cause downstream erosion if they breach.

Large Wood Retention in Forested River Corridors During Overbank Flood Events: Insights From Flume Experiments

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Understanding large wood (LW) dynamics on floodplains is important for closing wood budgets and predicting hazards associated with LW. We conducted 38 experiments in a fixed‐bed flume to examine how forest stand density (FSD), wood transport regime, and overbank flood magnitude affect floodplain LW retention.
