New‐Onset Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Cancer Risk: A Matched Cohort Study in China Kadoorie Biobank

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is rising rapidly in China and is linked to increased cancer risk, but causality remains unclear due to biases. We examined the causal effect of T2DM on cancer risk using bias‐minimizing methods.

The Circulating Cholangiocarcinoma Protein Biomarkers CRP and MASP2 Also Predict Gallbladder Cancer Risk

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In a recent publication, Lapitz et al. reported differences in serum levels that predict the development of cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) in patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis prior to clinical manifestation. We examined whether these biomarkers also predict the risk of gallbladder cancer (GBC) in European prospective plasma samples from ...

Bile acid metabolism and signaling in human and animal health: A One Health perspective

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Bile acids maintain host homeostasis through enterohepatic circulation, microbial transformation, and bile acid receptor signaling, thereby regulating glucose and lipid metabolism, intestinal barrier integrity, and immunity. These effects support human disease intervention and health‐oriented animal production, reducing drug dependence and residue ...

Abdominal POCUS Education for Clinicians: A Systematic Review of Teaching Methods for Point‐of‐Care Abdominal Ultrasonography

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, Volume 53, Issue 3, Page 547-561, March/April 2025.
For patients to benefit from abdominal point‐of‐care ultrasound, the ultrasound examinator must be sufficiently trained. Comparison Between Respiratory‐Triggered and Free‐Breathing Signal Acquisition Methods for Single‐Voxel Phosphorus Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy of the Liver on a Clinical System

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The optimal protocol for clinical liver 31P‐magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) remains unclear. Single‐voxel 31P‐MRS using image‐selected in vivo spectroscopy (ISIS) employs respiratory‐triggering (RT) or free‐breathing (FB) acquisition.

Gastric duplication cyst causing hypergastrinemia in an infant

open access: yesJPGN Reports, EarlyView.
Abstract Gastric duplication cysts are rare congenital anomalies, with fewer than 10% occurring in the stomach. We report a 14‐month‐old girl presenting with failure to thrive, recurrent emesis, hematemesis, and severe duodenitis with ulceration. Laboratory evaluation revealed marked hypergastrinemia (1781 pg/mL), and initial imaging was unrevealing ...
