The appearance of monoamines in the adult and developing neurohypophysis of Gallus gallus
Zeitschrift fr Zellforschung und Mikroskopische Anatomie, 1968Most of the specific monoamine fluorescence of the fowl neurohypophysis is found in the eminentia mediana and the infundibular stem. The densest accumulation of fluorescent structures is located to the zona externa and the subependymal layer, whereas generally only scattered fluorescence is demonstrable in the fiber layer.

Morphology of congenital microphthalmia in chicks (Gallus gallus)
Journal of Morphology, 1989AbstractThis study examines the morphology of sporadic congenital microphthalmia in 1‐day‐old chicks, with particular emphasis on the neural retina. On the basis of the size of the eyeball it is possible to classify microphthalmia into two groups, severe and mild. In severe microphthalmia (less than 5 mm in equatorial diameter), the eyeball is severely

Neurogenic inflammation in the chicken (Gallus gallus var domesticus)
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part C: Comparative Pharmacology, 19931. Neurogenic inflammation has been studied in the anaesthetized adult hen using a variety of different stimuli. 2. Plasma extravasation was produced following antidromic stimulation of the external mandibular ramus of the trigeminal nerve which innervates the skin at the angle of the jaw and the anterior part of the wattle. 3.

Two subspecies of red junglefowl are described using the difference in their earlobe color. Gallus gallus gallus carries a white earlobe while that of G.g.spadiceus is red. 10 animals from each subspecies were measured for 5 morphomtetric parameters. The analysis found that 4 out of 5 showed nonsignificant differences gut one character, the beak length,

Historical fictionalisations are popular with a wide readership today. The better examples avoid expediency with historical fact, but bring dramatic life to otherwise dry chronology. It is therefore surprising to find sober German historical erudition utilising a fictional narrative to impart a copious amount of detail.
