A constructive Galois connection between closure and interior

open access: yes, 2012
We construct a Galois connection between closure and interior operators on a given set. All arguments are intuitionistically valid. Our construction is an intuitionistic version of the classical correspondence between closure and interior operators via ...

Wild conductor exponents of curves

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract We give an explicit formula for wild conductor exponents of plane curves over Qp$\mathbb {Q}_p$ in terms of standard invariants of explicit extensions of Qp$\mathbb {Q}_p$, generalising a formula for hyperelliptic curves. To do so, we prove a general result relating the wild conductor exponent of a simply branched cover of the projective line ...

A curious example involving ordered compactifications

open access: yesApplied General Topology, 2002
For a certain product X x Y where X is compact, connected, totally ordered space, we find that the semilattice K0 (X x Y) of ordered compactifications of X x Y is isomorphic to a collection of Galois connections and to a collection of functions F which ...

Algebraicity of ratios of special L$L$‐values for GL(n)$\mathrm{GL}(n)$

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract We prove, under certain assumptions, the algebraicity of the ratio L(m,Π×χ)/L(m,Π×χ′)$L(m, \Pi \times \chi)/L(m, \Pi \times \chi ^{\prime })$, where Π$\Pi$ is a cuspidal automorphic cohomological unitary representation of GLn(AQ)$\mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb {A}_\mathbb {Q})$, and χ$\chi$, χ′$\chi ^{\prime }$ are finite‐order Hecke characters such ...

Antitone Galois Connections and Formal Concepts [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Fuzzy Logic and Intelligent Systems, 2010
In this paper, we investigate the properties of antitone Galois connection and formal concepts. Moreover, we show that order reverse generating maps induce formal, attribute oriented and object oriented concepts on a complete residuated lattice.

Counting 5‐isogenies of elliptic curves over Q$\mathbb {Q}$

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract We show that the number of 5‐isogenies of elliptic curves defined over Q$\mathbb {Q}$ with naive height bounded by H>0$H > 0$ is asymptotic to C5·H1/6(logH)2$C_5\cdot H^{1/6} (\log H)^2$ for some explicitly computable constant C5>0$C_5 > 0$. This settles the asymptotic count of rational points on the genus zero modular curves X0(m)$\mathcal {X}

A Vulnerability Lens for Intuitive‐Logic Scenarios

open access: yesFUTURES &FORESIGHT SCIENCE, Volume 8, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Exploration of possibilities by means of intuitive logic is hampered by a large number of scenarios, which easily exceed the limits imposed by human bounded rationality. While many practitioners constrain their scenarios within a 2 × 2 $2\times 2$ matrix by design, more structured approaches point to rationales such as eliminating ...

Galois theory for iterative connections and nonreduced Galois groups

open access: yes, 2008
This article presents a theory of modules with iterative connection. This theory is a generalisation of the theory of modules with connection in characteristic zero as given by N. Katz to modules over rings of arbitrary characteristic. We show that these

Hilbert Algebras with Hilbert-Galois Connections II

open access: yesBulletin of the Section of Logic
Hilbert algebra with a Hilbert-Galois connection, or HilGC-algebra, is a triple \(\left(A,f,g\right)\) where \(A\) is a Hilbert algebra, and \(f\) and \(g\) are unary maps on \(A\) such that \(f(a)\leq b\) iff \(a\leq g(b)\), and \(g(a\rightarrow b)\leq ...

A Lattice-Theoretic Approach to Multigranulation Approximation Space

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
In this paper, we mainly investigate the equivalence between multigranulation approximation space and single-granulation approximation space from the lattice-theoretic viewpoint.
