A history of Galois fields

open access: yesKhronos, 2016
This paper stresses a specific line of development of the notion of finite field, from Évariste Galois’s 1830 “Note sur la théorie des nombres,” and Camille Jordan’s 1870 Traité des substitutions et des équations algébriques, to Leonard Dickson’s 1901 ...

Galois orbits of TQFTs: symmetries and unitarity

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We study Galois actions on 2+1D topological quantum field theories (TQFTs), characterizing their interplay with theory factorization, gauging, the structure of gapped boundaries and dualities, 0-form symmetries, 1-form symmetries, and 2-groups.

Polynomial composites and certain types of fields extensions

open access: yesKarpatsʹkì Matematičnì Publìkacìï, 2023
In this paper, we consider polynomial composites with the coefficients from $K\subset L$. We already know many properties, but we do not know the answer to the question of whether there is a relationship between composites and field extensions.

Some interactions between Hopf Galois extensions and noncommutative rings

open access: yesUniversitas Scientiarum, 2022
In this paper, our objects of interest are Hopf Galois extensions (e.g., Hopf algebras, Galois field extensions, strongly graded algebras, crossed products, principal bundles, etc.) and families of noncommutative rings (e.g., skew polynomial rings, PBW ...

An Efficient Audio Encryption Scheme Based on Finite Fields

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Finite fields are well-studied algebraic structures with enormous efficient properties which have applications in the fields of cryptology and coding theory.

On Generalized Galois Cyclic Orbit Flag Codes

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
Flag codes that are orbits of a cyclic subgroup of the general linear group acting on flags of a vector space over a finite field, are called cyclic orbit flag codes.

SERRE WEIGHTS AND WILD RAMIFICATION IN TWO-DIMENSIONAL GALOIS REPRESENTATIONS

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma, 2016

QUANTUM THEORY AND GALOIS FIELDS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics B, 2006
We discuss the motivation and main results of a quantum theory over a Galois field (GFQT). The goal of the paper is to describe main ideas of GFQT in a simplest possible way and to give clear and simple arguments that GFQT is a more natural quantum theory than the standard one.

GALOIS FIELD QUANTUM MECHANICS [PDF]

open access: yesModern Physics Letters B, 2013
We construct a discrete quantum mechanics (QM) using a vector space over the Galois field GF(q). We find that the correlations in our model do not violate the Clauser–Horne–Shimony–Holt (CHSH) version of Bell's inequality, despite the fact that the predictions of this discrete QM cannot be reproduced with any hidden variable theory.
