Waste to Energy Storage: Fe‐Doped ZnO/Carbon Anodes Synthesized From Galvanizing Flue Dust

open access: yesEcoMat, Volume 8, Issue 1, January 2026.
This work presents a sustainable strategy to transform hot‐dip galvanizing flue dust into Fe‐doped ZnO/carbon anodes for lithium‐ion batteries, achieving capacities up to 1760.72 mAh g−1. The approach introduces an innovative perspective by linking metallurgical waste valorization with the advancement of a sustainable battery ecosystem.

Unveiling the Unprecedented Optical Properties of Citrate‐Stabilized Hollow AgAu Nanoshells Under Photothermal Irradiation

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 1, January 2026.
When photothermally irradiated, hollow gold nanoshells prepared using silver nanoparticles as templates and stabilized by citrate, exhibit unexpected optical changes. The localized surface plasmon resonance is blueshifts, and more surprisingly, the surface‐enhanced Raman scattering intensity of an adsorbed analyte increases.

Groundwater Chemistry and Children's Blood Lead Levels: A County‐Wise Analysis in the United States

open access: yesGeoHealth, Volume 10, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Groundwater is a major source of drinking water in the United States (US). Groundwater chemistry can contribute to lead leaching from water supply pipes due to factors such as pH and mineral content that influence corrosion. Lead exposure disproportionately affects children from low‐income neighborhoods.
