Objective physiological measurement of study-related and test anxiety in university students using biofeedback technology

open access: yesDiscover Psychology
Background Pre-exam anxiety is a very common feeling among university students that manifests at cognitive, behavioural, and physiological levels. It affects between 15 and 25% of students, generating avoidance behaviours towards evaluation, which can ...

CONTINUOUS MONITORING OF THE GALVANIC SKIN RESPONSE [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
poster abstractGalvanic Skin Response (GSR) is an objective measurement of the electrical conductance of the skin. GSR is tightly correlated with peripheral sweat rate, which in turn is associated with many clinical conditions.

Stretchable Energy Storage with Eutectic Gallium Indium Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
A highly stretchable liquid metal‐based electrode is developed via a one‐step process, retaining conductivity and capacitance after mechanical deformation up to 900% strain. The stretchable all‐solid‐state device provides a areal energy density of 43 µWh cm⁻2 after 150% strain.

Safety of Sodium‐Ion Batteries: Evaluation and Perspective from Component Materials to Cells, Modules, and Packs

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This review provides a bottom‐up evaluation of sodium‐ion battery safety, linking material degradation mechanisms, cell engineering parameters, and module/pack assembly. It emphasizes that understanding intrinsic material stability and establishing coordinated engineering control across hierarchical levels are vital for preventing degradation coupling ...

Effects of head-down bed rest on the executive functions and emotional response. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Prolonged bed rest may cause changes in the autonomic nervous system that are related to cognition and emotion. This study adopted an emotional flanker task to evaluate the effect of 45 days -6° head-down bed rest (HDBR) on executive functioning in 16 ...

Redefining Crystalline Silicon: Unlocking New Horizons in Transparent and Flexible Photovoltaics

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Crystalline silicon is presented as a platform for transparent and flexible photovoltaics. This review article outlines design principles for optical strategies to fabricate transparent silicon solar cells, mechanical strategies that mitigate silicon brittleness, and emerging concepts such as singlet‐fission spectral conversion and tandem architectures,

Thermal signatures of human pheromones in sexual and reproductive behaviour [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Chemically mediated sexual communication in humans has been largely neglected due to its non-conscious and relatively concealed nature. However, menstrual cycle synchronisation, puberty onset in young pre-pubertal girls exposed to their stepfather, and ...
