Game Refinement Theory and Its Application to Score Limit Games

open access: yesGame Refinement Theory and Its Application to Score Limit Games
This paper presents an application of game refinement theory to score limited sport games badminton and table tennis, in order to observe the effect of recent rule changes on their sophistication. We apply the game refinement measure of information from world class tournaments.

A Game Informatical Analysis of Dark Chess by Game Refinement Theory

open access: closed, 2020
This paper explores the evolutionary changes of Chinese chess variants such as Chinese dark chess. A computer program is created for each variant and self-play experiments are performed to collect many data such as the average number of possible moves and game length.

An Application of Game-Refinement Theory to Mah Jong

open access: closed, 2004
This paper presents an application of the game refinement theory to a class of multi-person incomplete-information games, especially in the domain of Mah Jong that is an old Chinese four-person incomplete-information game. We have developed a computer program to analyze some statistics on the number of the possible options and the game length.
