A Dynamic Network Model of Societal Complexity and Resilience Inspired by Tainter’s Theory of Collapse

open access: yesEntropy
In recent years, several global events have severely disrupted economies and social structures, undermining confidence in the resilience of modern societies.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Application of Game Theory in Integrated Energy System Systems: A Review

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
With the rapid development of society, global energy is in short supply. China has put forward an integrated energy system focusing on interconnecting energy resources and harnessing their complementary advantages to address the energy crisis, thus no ...

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

The fiducial lower confidence limits of reliability for standby system based on zero-failure data(基于无失效数据贮备系统可靠性的fiducial置信限)

open access: yesZhejiang Daxue xuebao. Lixue ban, 2010

Game Theory and Emotions [PDF]

open access: yesRationality and Society, 1997
To illustrate the rational-choice modeling of emotions, a game-theoretic model of frustration, in which players respond in anger to their lack of control, is developed. Of the 57 distinct 2 × 2 strict ordinal conflict games, 12 turn out to be `frustration games', in four of which `threat power', based on the theory of moves, offers relief to the ...

Natural Products as Geroprotective Modulators in Diabetic Nephropathy: A Mechanistic Framework Integrating Aging Hallmarks and the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 Axis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Natural products target the aging kidney in diabetic nephropathy by restoring the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 axis, reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular senescence while enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidant defenses.

Evolutionary game theory [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Biology, 1999
We have so far discussed the evolution of frequencies of traits under selection alone. But, in addition, mutation will introduce new variants from time to time. This proceeds at another time scale. Game theory can be used to analyse both short-term and long-term evolution.
