Spectral Line Search in Bright Gamma-Ray Bursts Observed by Fermi/GBM

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The recently reported discoveries of emission lines with power-law decay from  ∼37 to  ∼6 MeV in the gamma-ray burst (GRB) 221009A have greatly contributed to probing the physics of GRBs, which also raises the natural question of whether there are more ...

Recovery of Liquid Organic Radioactive Waste Absorbed Into Soil by Extraction

open access: yesCleanMat, EarlyView.
Radioactive organic liquid waste adsorbed in soil containing pure beta‐emitting radionuclides such as H‐3 must be radiologically characterized for subsequent management. For this purpose, a method for the recovery of radioactive scintillation liquids adsorbed in soil has been developed that simulates this type of waste.

A Nonselective Automatic Method for Kinetic Simulations of Gas Mixtures under Ionizing Radiation: Case Study of a Nuclear‐to‐Chemical Concept

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
This study presents here a versatile and automated method based on open‐access curated databases for complex mixture radiolysis kinetic modeling. The case study is a nuclear‐to‐chemical concept. This method provides a robust way for concept evaluation and could pave the way for radiation‐induced technology development in chemical processing.

Expansion and Spectral Softening of the Dust-scattering Rings of GRB 221009A

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
An expanding X-ray halo or rings appear when short pulses of X-ray radiation from a background source are scattered by clouds of dust in the Milky Way. We study the X-ray rings of the brightest gamma-ray burst (GRB) 221009A, detected by the Swift X-Ray ...
