Fabrication of Multifunctional FeSi Gyroid Lattice Composites via Additive Manufacturing and Polymer Infiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐step approach combining laser powder bed fusion of FeSi electrical steel with Bakelite infiltration enables the fabrication of multifunctional gyroid lattice composites. The resulting structures exhibit high strength, magnetic anisotropy, and complete polymer infiltration, demonstrating a simple and scalable route toward lightweight, mechanically

Results of 15 yr Pulsar Timing of PSR J0007+7303 with Fermi-LAT

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The study of pulsar glitches provides a unique window into the internal structure and dynamic processes of neutron stars. PSR J0007+7303, a very bright gamma-ray pulsar, is the first pulsar discovered by the Fermi–Large Area Telescope (LAT) telescope. In

Sustainable Synthesis of Bio‐Based Magnetic and Conductive Wood for Electromagnetic Interference Shielding Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A wood‐based magnetic and conductive material called Magwood (MW), capable of blocking almost 99.99% of electromagnetic waves (in the X‐band frequency range), is synthesized using a simple, solvent‐free process. MW is lightweight, resists water, and is flame‐retardant, making it a promising alternative for shielding electronics. The rapid proliferation

Gamma-Ray Burst Energetics [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1999
We estimate the fraction of the total energy in a Gamma-Ray Burst (GRB) that is radiated in photons during the main burst. Random internal collisions among different shells limit the efficiency for converting bulk kinetic energy to photons. About 1% of the energy of explosion is converted to radiation, in 10-1000 kev energy band in the observer frame ...

Solar Gamma Rays Above 8 MeV [PDF]

open access: yes
Processes which lead to the production of gamma rays with energy greater than 8 MeV in solar flares are reviewed and evaluated. Excited states produced by inelastic scattering, charge exchange, and spallation reactions in the abundant nuclear species are

WIMPless dark matter and the excess gamma rays from the Galactic center

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper we discuss the excess gamma rays from the Galactic center, the WMAP haze and the CoGeNT and DAMA results in WIMPless models. At the same time we also investigate the low energy constraints from the anomalous magnetic moment of leptons and ...

Thermoelectric Modules Incorporating MgAgSb and Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 Synthesized Using a Melting Method

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable synthesis method for a thermoelectric material of MgAgSb is established. A thermoelectric power module of MgAgSb/Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 is fabricated, showing the conversion efficiency of 7.4% at ΔT = 315 K. The performance is comparable to conventional Bi2Te3 modules when they are operated with an air‐cooled heat exchanger.

Unveiling the Origin of the Fermi Bubbles

open access: yesGalaxies, 2018
The Fermi bubbles, two giant structures above and below the Galactic center (GC), are among the most important discoveries of the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope.
