Engineering tandem VHHs to target different epitopes to enhance antibody‐dependent cell‐mediated cytotoxicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tandem VHH targeting distinct EGFR epitopes were engineered into a monovalent bispecific antibody (7D12‐EGA1‐Fc) with more potent ADCC without increasing affinity to EGFR. Structural modeling of 7D12‐EGA1‐Fc showed cross‐linking of separate EGFR domains to enhance CD16a engagement on NK cells.

OBSERVATION OF DIFFUSE COSMIC AND ATMOSPHERIC GAMMA RAYS AT BALLOON ALTITUDES WITH AN ELECTRON-TRACKING COMPTON CAMERA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We observed diffuse cosmic and atmospheric gamma rays at balloon altitudes with the Sub-MeV gamma-ray Imaging Loaded-on-balloon Experiment I (SMILE-I) as the first step toward a future all-sky survey with a high sensitivity.

Multi‐Omics Integration for Advancing Glioma Precision Medicine

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gliomas are among the most malignant and aggressive tumors of the central nervous system, characterized by the absence of early diagnostic markers, poor prognosis, and a lack of effective treatments. Advances in high‐throughput technologies have facilitated a refined molecular classification of gliomas, incorporating genetic features. However,

Time lag between prompt optical emission and gamma-rays in GRBs

open access: yes, 2006
The prompt optical emission contemporaneous with the $\gamma$-rays from $\gamma$-ray bursts (GRBs) carries important information on the central engine and explosion mechanism. We study the time lag between prompt optical emission and $\gamma$-rays in GRB

Are Electrons Oscillating Photons, Oscillating “Vacuum," or Something Else? The 2015 Panel Discussion: An Unprecedented Engineering Opportunity: A Dynamical Linear Theory of Energy as Light and Matter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Platform: What physical attributes separate EM waves, of the enormous band of radio to visible to x-ray, from the high energy narrow band of gamma-ray? From radio to visible to x-ray, telescopes are designed based upon the optical imaging theory; which ...

Machine Learning Applied to High Entropy Alloys under Irradiation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Designing alloys for extreme environments demands fast, trustworthy prediction. This review charts how machine learning—especially machine‐learned interatomic potentials and predictive models based on experiment‐informed datasets—captures the complexity of high‐entropy alloys in extreme environments, predicts phase formation, mechanical properties, and

Absorption of high-energy gamma rays in Cygnus X-3 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Context. The microquasar Cygnus X-3 was detected at high energies by the gamma-ray space telescopes AGILE and Fermi .T he gamma-ray emission is transient, modulated with the orbital period and seems related to major radio flares, i.e. to the relativistic

Subgrain and Cavity Development during Creep of Al‐3.85%Mg

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Al‐3.85%Mg does form subgrains if crept at very high strains. This fact allows the unification of the creep description in two different alloys such as pure Al and Al–Mg alloys. It is classically considered that the creep mechanisms for type M (e.g., pure Al) and type A alloys (e.g., Al–Mg alloys) are different.

Gamma rays from dark matter

open access: yes, 2010
A leading hypothesis for the nature of the elusive dark matter are thermally produced, weakly interacting massive particles that arise in many theories beyond the standard model of particle physics.
