Single‐Crystal Castability of CM186LC Nickel‐Based Superalloy
Advanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.The optimal conditions to obtain single‐crystal (SX) castings of the directional solidification nickel‐based superalloy CM186LC, are investigated. Cylindrical samples are cast via a proprietary SX Bridgman process. The effect of solidification rates (V) ranging from 1 to 10 mm⋅min−1 on the microstructure is explored.
